As big LEDs are becoming cheaper, rental houses are starting to sell off smaller HMIs for almost nothing. I bought three 1200 watt pars for $300-$500 each at different times, and they pack a huge punch! They’ll usually require a little bit of work at that price, and they’ll always come with heavy magnetic ballasts and be beat to hell, but they’re workhorses and will do a ton to bring up the production value.
