This one saved me from the skunk this morning. Had a little largemouth swipe at my spinner bait so I grabbed my other pole that had a Texas rigged yum dinger and POW. Saved by the cast back. Beautiful thanks Ben!

I already lost a smallie on the Whopper plopper. I decided to throw the Ned Rig at same place and I got it, which proves what your saying is correct. I also agree that fish feeling hooks doesn't necessarily spook them, but they might remember when they see that same lure. Great tips and info! 👍

"Fish are stupid"............i agree completely. One time i was fishing up on the St. Croix. Caught the exact same fish on the exact same tube(didn't even put on a new one), in the exact same location, in about 20 minutes. Had a very odd marking on it plus i measured it all 3 times, hence likely the exact same fish. As you said....."fish are stupid". lol

My favorite toss back bait is a Zoom finesse worm in Watermelon Green with a Chartreuse tail. I pair this worm with a Spot Remover hook which is 1/8 oz.

I’ve seen trophy smallmouth that should be “smart” come off after being reeled in for 5 or 6 seconds, and chase down the lure and eat it again before you get it back to the boat.
