I'm currently designing a much much simplified version of the external amps system as a kit that will install in minutes. Totally removable with no extensive modifications needed to the helmet. Just plug and play, so to speak: only earpads with built-in speakers, and amps enclosed in a plastic housing vacuum formed to fit the helmet flare tube without being in the way. It will be glorious!

I went to an furniture upholsterer and he gave loads of offcuts for free of various thicknesses. You need a disc in the top of the helmet and the thinness of this depends on how high the helmet needs to sit.

That sounds really awesome at 5:04. I wonder if the same thing can also be possibly done with a Darth Vader helmet too. except it wouldn't sound exactly just like the fan's voice, it would sound exactly just like James Earl Jones's Darth Vader voice and the breathing sound so that no one will be able to hear the fan's own voice and breathing sound. if that kind of programing can possible that is. Mynock's Den should also do the same to the Anovos First Order Stormtrooper helmet too.
@CollectionTHX11389 жыл бұрын
Wow! Great job on the helmet and the video presentation! I put a video up of a traveling exhibit that had a movie worn costume. One of these days I'll get a costume : I remember they sold the helmet replicas in the 70's/early 80's in Sci-Fi magazines. I should break those ads out.
@5carecrow948 жыл бұрын
You are one badass dude. I'll happily subscribe. I just bought myself a New Hope version of the helmet and am looking to add a microphone since I'm planning on cosplaying as a comedy variant of a Stormtrooper. (Tourist trooper, janitor trooper, chef trooper, etc.), so in this case, all I needed was the helmet and not the armor, since I'm too tubby to fit into a set anyways. This will help a lot!

You can then you can cover the foam with a stretchy type cloth if you want like Lycra or even very thick lady's tights and then use Velcro to fix so you can remove should you want to ever wash them. hope that helps out.

Then I have a thin band that runs across the top of the eyes. Then to parts of foam that tend to be thinker than the rest at the sides that go just above the ears and finally one band at the back of the head where your head is the biggest. If you need you can also place another thinker part of foam just under this. Its a matter of trial and error and I temporarily fix them in and when I have all the position and thicknesses right.

Also I'd like to know how you wired it all behind the padding. Just over all a little more detail, so i may make an awesome helmet mod like you did. Again, wonderful video!

Made that last reply from the wrong profile. I've done simple but clean padding before as well, but that wasn't the goal here. Had it been possible, I would have put a HUD in there as well, if for no other reason than just to see if it would work. I'm currently in the process of molding a boba fett helmet and once it's done, I'm going to do the same thing to it, and hopefully more. Why? Just because! I'll reply to the other posts shortly.

Love the video and love the work you put in your helmet. I take your work as inspiration for my mando bucket, but already figured out, that those have quite less space to put electronics in (the trooper helmet bulges at the bottom are sure a nice place to put electronics in). What interests me, is how much electronics you put in your SW:ToR Mando helmet. Keep up the awesome work, vod!

Do you think you could do something similar to this with a Darth Vader helmet? SkulShurtugalTCG For legit trooping yeah , but for display or casual cosplay , just replacing the decals makes the helmet look decent enough :P
@SkulShurtugalTCG8 жыл бұрын
+General Khalee (TA-65015) For that kind of thing, absolutely. What you do for yourself, and your own hobbies, is entirely up to you - and if you want to display this helmet, or use it casually, it's definitely way better than most other things you can pick up commercially.
