Thanks! 👍 glad you liked it, but Hestad did most of the work in this one. I just edited some of the footage. I did not know about all the details around 3D printing my self. So it was quite enjoyable for me as well. I did not see his footage before the day before release. So I had noe idea it was this much work and thought behind the design 🔥 Just amazing 👏🏻

I’ve not ridden for some time, due to work and weather, but my T7 WR is suffering from SAD syndrome, so going to take him out for a treat, in the lull, before the storm! 😉😂 🤛😎🤜

This modification will cause more damage than help! The dashboard console is left movable with the idea to prevent any vibrations on the electronics and the windscreen holders. When you stop it, with this bracket, two things are going to happen: 1 - You will actually transfer the vibrations directly to the electronics. 2 - The two holder brackets that stayed on both sides have small plastic beds, which will be damaged and will get loose. This will cause another, much worse movement in the whole windscreen area. It already happened with my friend's bike, who rides a lot of hard off-road with his Tenere. The Japanese engineers know what they were doing! It is left loose with purpose! Happy New Year!

Hmm... this is a good input Pavlin 🤔 But if you compare the Original T7 with the World Raid, the headlight and dash is supported and does not vibrate anymore. Only the rod that holds the windscreen. It is almost like the piece is only there to hold the windscreen everything else... the headlight and the dash is mounted lower and firm in the plastic sounding the power outlet and the ABS button. I really need to investigate this more 👌🏻 Happy New Year mate

I think you owe your friend a nice cold beer. If he drinks that is 😂 That's a great solution, I have the same problem on my Suzuki V Strom 650. The trouble is the bracket is rubber mounted. I've got used to it, and it doesn't bother me that much now. I think I owe him more than a cold beer, I may have a little surprise for him after this. We agreed on him making something for me to use, and I have to say, I was quite surprised that he delivered so much great material for me to use in this video. I guess this can be an issue for many bikes, I do understand that they place rubber up there, so the dash wont shake to much. for me it is like "that noise" in the car... the one thing that constantly bugs the life out of you. It just has to be fixed 🤣🙈 I really bad on making promises, but I will get up there as soon as time let me 🔥 Cheers mate, and marry Christmas 👏🏻

I love the farkles that riders come up with. This is come up more and more as 3 d printers are more main stream. I too put my v-strom away for months, and dream up new things. Trips has been my favorite thing lately. Looking in a 3 day blast around northern Ontario Canada. Snowmobiling has replaced my desire. Haha 😄 🤣

I absolutely love this my self. It is often well thought trough and best of all, it is free and available out there for everyone to use for them selv. Best way to make better stuff for each others. There are so many possibilities with 3D printing. Can't wait to see what direction this takes in the future. Trips and long adventures is really my favourite thing as well, but I know life is a dynamic thing, so I need others stuff as well. Yeah, it is a lot of fun, and so motivating to try something completely new. This will probably fit the new 2023 Tenere 700, that bike will get the same dash as the world raid. If you are buying an older model, I have a 3D print file for that as well in the link from the description. Cheers

Hi there, glad you liked the design 👍I used PTEG, ABS might have been even better but my printer struggles using it. I have quite a lot of 3D prints for outdoor use, and from my experience PTEG holds up very well.

I don't think it will be a problem with vibration, but there is no harme in putting on some lock tight or lock nuts. Do what you feel is best. 🔥

What type of plastic is it printed in? When I print something for use on a motorcycle, I print in ASA. First proto in regular PLA and then in ASA. ASA has been one of the easiest materials to print in for me, as well as easy to process and paint.

You will see this design failing as soon as it gets it's first 3 hours on the gravel. To many sharp direction changes in the design, only 2 walls and a weak infill. And, what's the point in clamping the wobbly rod onto the only one screw on the dash? But thats the how mechanical design evolves. Have fun and good luck.

I'm not quite sure you understand the point of this design? It is to support and prevent it from shaking. If this design fails, the rod should be broken after just a couple of hours on the gravel? The one screw on the dash keeps it in position with the headlight. There is no danger with mounting it like this ?

The final print had 60% infill (quite a lot more than prototype 1), I use 0.4mm nozzle so it's quite sturdy with 2 layers on the shells. I agree that more is needed if you use the "default" 0.2mm nozzle most printers has. The point in clamping the wobbly rod onto the only one screw on the dash is to reduce especially the sideways vibrations for the rod where the GPS is mounted. I really hope it will not fail after 3 hours 🤞Time will show, and if it's too weak we will have to improve it. Total cost of the 3D print is approx. $2, so luckily no one is going bankrupt if it fails 😅
