Thinking of buying one of these. Dunno where you get those figures from though for the percentage increase. Your max/min figures quoted over the two tests were 83/70. That's 13db more which is only 18% increase at that widest point. A 60% increase from 70 would be about 112db. It does sound better though. Those were standard van speakers, not aftermarket I take it.

Hi the speakers are aftermarket. Note our perception of how loud a speaker sounds doubles every time you increase the output by 10 dB. So the volume when you go from 70 to 80 is double. I hope this helps.

I think it is worth the upgrade if you have the standard VW head unit fitted. The door speaker sound is much better and not just louder. I have after market speakers fitted though, so I cannot comment on the standard speakers.
