Upgraded Charging Harness For Husqvarna 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH 520, 520H, 550, 550H Automowers

In this video we take a look at the charging harness inside the lower chassis of the 430X, 430XH, 450X, 450XH, 520, 520H, 550, & 550H models of Husqvarna Automowers. This is the harness that connects to the charging contact plates in the nose of the mower and the other end connects to the main board in in the back of the mower. In a previous video ( • Automower Charging Cur... ) we showed how the connection between this harness and the charging contacts could possibly melt and cause the mower not to charge. That issue led to Husqvarna updating the harness for the charging contacts and this inner harness. The new version of both the charging contact harness and the inner harness use different wire with better insulation than the previous version. The new inner harness now has two different colored wires which makes trouble shooting easier than when both wires were the same shade of blue and it wasn't as easy to tell which one was positive and which was negative. On the new harness for the charging contacts and the inner harness the brown wire is the positive and the blue wire is the negative. That's right, its "BLUE ON BLACCKKKK!" just like the classic Kenny Wayne Shephard song.

@@RoboticMowerServices Totally understand, its sits more with Husqvarna gobally. I live in New Zealand and our dollar is not as strong and by time products get shipped out to us we get stung. Keep up the good work with you videos, I think they are excellent. You do a great job.

Can you add a second battery to a 430X as I assume the 450X has 2 batteries in parallel?

This happened to one of my 450XH's last month. The connector had bubbles and was slightly darkened, so I knew it overheated. When trying to disconnect it, the connectors both broke. I just cut the connectors from the wires and used electrical tape to re-connect the wires. It has been working fine since. Are there any possible issues with having fixed it this way without the connectors?

Yes, there is. As shown and explained in this video the new wires are a different metal and have a different insulation on them. The original style had issues with the wire itself corroding inside the insulation. When you fix it as you mentioned you are eliminating that bad spot that you can see but leaving the wire that was over heated and caused the issue still in the mower.
