@@IRONCLADRC YEAH BUDDY!!! I’ll share what I’ve done so far as well as the guts of what’s going to be a BEAST!!!! Two 3S with a 90amp ESC AND A 4500KV MOTOR. I got shorties. Might have to get two 4S just to balance her out. 😂😂😂😂. I’m excited!!!! Doesn’t matter what happens. I’ll get her balanced and riding smooth. I’ve learned a ton from your page!!! Thx for responding Positively cool Big B!!!!

Big B I had 3 broken connectors with my last batch of connectors. I went back to an earlier supplier and bought lighter color connectors. I believe the plastics are more flexible on the lighter connectors-they won’t break! Darker colored connectors seem harder!

Yea that's what I get for buying cheap connectors

AWSOME video, I learn something new every time Big B. You are right about the trim tabs, I removed mine from the BJ24 and will devising away to adjust the batteries/cg more easily, both my battery trays busted loose in the crash. I will definitely be soldering in my new Flowpack to the BJ24. I cut my rudder to short but you may have invented something new “Drift Boats” 🤣 👍BG4L
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
Did it drift with the shorter rudder, 🤔 only cutting the rudder short?
@nealstarling54222 жыл бұрын
Yes, it drifted around like a dirt oval car. I cut 24mm off, should have cut maybe only 19 but it was pretty cool 😎 until torque roll got ahold of her and she twisted and flipped at over 60mph, I was not ironclad 😔 the hatch snapped in half and the part with me gps sank. My battery trays broke loose too but I got the batteries and everything else back.

I’m jealous you can boat all year round. It’s 40°F and raining here in NorCal.

It is a boat you have to change weight to your own liking unless you live way up north or south and play with it in the snow

Glad u like it man and congrats on the 8k subs! Gotta throw both gps’ in now and see if there’s a difference. Maybe all your pb’s were a mile an hour or so faster than u thought. Stinks the outing ended so soon but glad u got it sorted out on the connection and low radio batts.

Make sure you use corrosion x on the charging plug b4 the speed run spot. Bc the time I took mine out there it got a little corroded.

Sweet setup! I popped a 90 amp flycolor in mine. My stock receiver in the boat stopped working and I want to replace. What do you recommend for a new receiver if I want to keep my stock radio controller? Thanks for your input!
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
If it's a stx 2 radio I'd go with a MRX200 OR UPGRADE TO A TTX300 TACTIC
@matthewwilken20512 жыл бұрын
i know how ya feel, just your receiver im sure , esc maybe. its usually nothing serious unless something cooked....this time of year living up north i pack it up. some rc boats run fast with the cooler water cooling. but my planes, helis, quads etc. the become so much more brittle in the colder weather , servos failing, gyros acting weird. ive learned my lesson and just wait till spring. i might fly a few planes in the snow but that's about it.

friend, a question why do you recommend using an esc with higher amps with the 3250kv motor and not with the 3400kv one? And one question, can these motors be used in 6s?
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
There 4s motors the 3400kv is a smaller sized 2968 motor, also has less watts than the 3660 3250kv motor
@PigglyWigglyDeluxe2 жыл бұрын
The reason your ESC stays powered without the batteries is indeed because of the cap pack. However, it’s because it’s a slow dump cap pack. Not all caps are the same. If you have a quick dump cap, you lose power once the batteries come unplugged. Cap pack choice is indeed part of tuning. They all perform differently. Speed runners typically like slow dump caps because they are better at holding voltage drop under load when you’re holding full throttle for an eternity. Quick dump caps are great for drag racers who need all the power all at once for just one second. Just some food for thought

AWWW YEAH!!! I might be putting too much power in mine. Lol

I'm running a 4074sss 2000kv in my veles (same boat) with 150esc. You could run a 3674 1800-2000kv on 6s all day long. 1800 for WOT ovals the 2000kv would be for speed run type setup. Hope this helps. I

@@IRONCLADRC thanks buddy your answer has been very helpful! I run a Leopard LBP3674-1900KV motor in my BJ 29", but I was thinking of a motor with more Kv to get more speed, but with your explanation I think I'll stay with the Leopard thanks again for your help brother, keep uploading videos greetings

hey buddy I have seen some of your videos of each update that you do to the black jack but I have a question with which motor do you think runs better with the Rocket 3400Kv or with the hobbystar 3250kv?
@IRONCLADRC Жыл бұрын
Depends on speed control really. Flycolor 90 works great with the 2969 3400kv. If your gonna go 3660 3250kv motor I'd recommend a larger speed control 120a or larger
@michaelRcHouston Жыл бұрын
@@IRONCLADRC oh wow I thought that with more Kv I would need a higher capacity esc but it is the opposite, I have a 90 Kv I will have to use the 3400 Kv motor. Thanks for your help bro and thanks for all the videos you've made I really love the Black Jack 24
