Great tank mate, I just got a reefer 250 which I will be setting up soon once I get the plumbing sorted. I will be doing QT for my fish this time for sure. Might try for a small bristletooth tang or kole tang and maybe a foxface and my clowns and a few other small fish.

Love the tank. I have reefer 250. About to upgrade to a DD tank. I prefer the DD cabinets but I love my red sea.

Please can we have a link to this DD of which you speak? :)

I'm looking into buying a Red Sea Reefer 425 G2+ with all red sea parts, lights, protein skimmer, reef mat, dosing pumps etc. The app looks nice as well as compatibility. If anyone more experienced has any input I would love to hear. Thanks!

Tank is looking great!

I would say that hair algae is pulling out your nitrates and phosphates, once you have tangs in there eating the algae you watch your nutrients go up! This is why its great to run a algae turf scrubber or chaeto. I prefer algae turf scrubber cos it works no matter what.

All fish are back on the tank, hair algae is going away and nutrients are staying around .03 for phosphate and 3-5 for nitrate. I run a fuge and it works great cuz I’m a heavy feeder for both coral and fish but nutrients stay consistently low.

Ich is airborne. The white dots are the cysts which the babies hatch out of. When they are free floating they are invisible. Almost all fish in the ocean have Ich but because the ocean is so vast they can't multiple and be deadly like they can in an aquarium.

you are correct.

I really really hate the RedSea tank kits. For the price you could get a 1" thick 280g 72"x30"x30" acrylic tank, a huge acrylic sump, 2 Kessil a500x lights with wifi doggles, Syncra sdc 9.0 pump, Nyos 300 skimmer, 4 mp60 wave makers, a battery backup, and aluminum stand. The tank kits are just so over priced, $5k "Max System kits" should be able to get so much more. That's like end all be all tank price for most people. Hopefully yours since your not using RedSea lights and stuff was cheaper. Your tank is nice looking though, good job.

Thanks. I got a deal on it, so it wasn't too bad. I'm not a acrylic fan at all, so that tank would not work for me. To each there own bud.

This is a $2500 tank kit. I get that it is expensive, but are you thinking it's $5000?

If you don't like saying "chemical" you can say "elements". That's what we call it to make ourselves feel better! (And that's what's on most of the packaging!)

If you could reconfigure the sump a bit, you would love the Red Sea roller mat as opposed to the socks.

I'm planning on installing one soon!!! thanks.

I think your tank looks great bud. How did you get the apex monitor to show on your TV screen that’s awesome 😎

I have a computer hooked up to my TV from my movies and things of that nature so I just go to the webpage.

Amazing tank! Are those tubes coming from the window going to your skimmer? Or just to the sump?
@Reefing13203 жыл бұрын
they go to the skimmer. really helps keeping PH stable.

The turf/hair algae and rocks are sucking up/binding your phosphate.
@Reefing13203 жыл бұрын
well most algae is gone now and nutrient levels are staying low. I'm not complaining at all!

I recommend using dark clothes ,to reduce your reflection. There’s no light in the sump, so I can’t see a thing. And finally , move the camera slower. You have a beautiful tank 👍😎

Random question, how much does it cost to run this?
@Reefing13202 жыл бұрын
Uses about $20 a month in power (apex calculator) maybe $20-30 in food. Never really checked. Or are u asking about the hole setup?

@@Reefing1320 how much does it cost in water? I have the nuvo 20 and want to move up. What do you do for water changes for that beast? Brute trash can? I just started my Rodi
@1320MotorWorks2 жыл бұрын
@@davidmurphy4672 I go through about 10 gallons of RO a week as I’m using a fan to reg temp. I do around 5-10 gallon water changes a week so not much.

@@davidmurphy4672 yes on the trash cans. 1 for RO 1 for salt. 10-20% a week changes. Having an RODI system is one of the best things you can have. I waited way to long before getting one!
@davidmurphy46722 жыл бұрын
@@1320MotorWorks Shoot I don't have space for a brute trash can though. Gonna have to figure this out. I do use 5 gallon plastic drums right now. Do you have your rodi in a giant container in the garage or somthing and have hoses through the walls?

Whats wrong with the Hawaii fish collection ban? Its common sense and you are perfect example. Animals stolen from their habitat only to go into someone’s tank to die
