Thanks again, Ben! Got my Looperboard last week and I absolutely LOVE it. Wasn't sure about making the leap until I saw your videos. You're the man, rock on!

There are several loop machines that have 24bit (instead of 16), and admittedly better audio quality than the RC-505, more inputs, computing power, etc. BUT, I did not buy a HeadRush, a Voicelive 3-XT, an Aeros, an EHX 9000, because of ONE thing the RC-505 has: that UI. The User Interface: • The big buttons made for hands, not shoes. • You can SEE what’s happening with your loops as it happens, by colors and patterns(right brain), instead having to read a screen text (left brain). • almost everything you need to do during a creative session or performance is available right in front of you, w/o menu diving. I do hope Roland does a major Hardware upgrade to their LoopStation - maybe even a “Roland” branded “pro” model, an “RC-5005”, perhaps. . . with 24bit audio, SD card slot, better USB MIDI interfacing, etc. Yet, with all the 505’s shortcomings, I won’t get another looper, unless someone can surpass that brilliant Boss interface that some, hopefully well-paid, genius at Roland, invented.

Hi Ben really enjoy your reviews and vids. It's because of you I bought the Headrush looper board 🙌🏼 I do have a question that probably only you can answer. Why am I not able to loop all my instruments (guitar, keyboard,bass,drum pads) that's plugged into the 4 channels? It only allows me the ability to loop from channel one to the four channels?!? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Keep in mind, your comparison (if favourable to the Headrush) needs to convince my wife more than it needs to convince me. ... She can't know we had this conversation in advance. Be sure to mention how all your interpersonal relationships have improved since the new looper... ;)

On my RC-300 I use the L/R inputs to act as two channels.My guitar is on the left, my harmonica mic is on the right. The L/R outputs end up only one instrument or the other. It's perfect. In effect, the RC-300 configured like this acts like two 3-track loopers synched together. With the Headrush having 4 inputs, I'd love to have 4 instruments in (guitar, Harp, vox, percussion). It would be AWESOME if the outputs could be each instrument no matter what track loop it's on. In effect working like four 4-track loopers synched together. I'm worried that what it will ACTUALLY do is sum the four inputs into 4 stereo tracks that get summed together into a pair for stereo outputs. If I can still only keep two instruments discreet from input to output (two 4-track loopers in sync), then the extra track won't be enough to win me over from the RC-300. Ok. So that's what *I* want to know. My wife will want to know that this is the right purchase for our marriage, and if it will enhance my ability to focus less on gear and more on our relationship. Pie in the sky, or is there a case to be made here? Lol. Wish me luck!

I wonder whether the touch screen limites the lifespan of this device ?
@BenRowlandsMusic4 жыл бұрын
That is a fair point to consider! Hopefully not!

@@BenRowlandsMusic Maybe I am too "oldschool" but I always like it when a unit I buy serves me for years and years. The Boss RC 300 seems indestrucrable to me. This unit undoubtedly has more bells and whistles and the screen makes it easy to follow but may be a "weaker" point . Ah probably I am getting old and worry too much. 😄!!!
