If you have the clock running in "sync" mode from the looper plus with the boss rc 505... Will the boss RC-505 also run in sync mode without it's quantization issues?

Is there a midi foot controller with an exp pedal that works with the looper or is that not possible with the rc505?

What about the budget options for someone not performing but just practicing and seeing if it's something they want to continue with? There are stereo and multi track pedals for $40-120 from the typical Chinese brands - Mooer, M-vave, Donner, Lekato😊

You're a poser and idiot. The reason the sound is inferior using audio cables vs USB is that the audio has to go through Analog to Digital converion (which is lossy ) and then again Digital to audio conversion on the audio cables to your sound car, where it once again does am analog to digital conversion. The USB transfers the audio in digital without going through any converters. It has nothing to du with length of cables.

Hi Ben, thanks for the video I have the Sheeran plus since tody and I wonder it have a latency if You click undo/redo. The reaction is not instant, it's delayed round about 0,5sec. Do You have the same problem? My Boss RC-1 is much quicker with that function

For me separate Exp pedal is the go.. Put it wherever you like and use your preferred style of unit.. But more practical is that the built-ins are always the first thing to fail in my experience.

I have a Jackson King V Pro. The plug in is on the inside of the wing. Been wrapping it like you talked about for years. I am glad someone out there talked about this. I'm 59 years old and am glad you being the the younger generation is passing on how to play a V properly and encouraging others to try them. I picked up a V years ago and have not looked back.

I have the Donner bass guitar, it's really pretty good too. It is very light though, which is good except it makes the bass prone to the neck dropping down. Quality though is amazing for the price.

I’m still a fan of the 500.. most everyone I follow is running the 600 , but because I’m still a beginner/ intermediate musician, the simplicity of the 2 track 500 seems a better fit for me.. if I need more tracks , ( for say a third part, like a bridge ) it’s my understanding that if I use a midi controller I can scroll up a memory slot, and presto , 2 more tracks.. ( and the on board drums stay seamlessly in sync through the memory slot changes..)

Hey Ben. Would you know why does the RC500, when hooked to a MIDI controller, only go up & down in Memory by 1 step at a time when the RC5 goes continuously ? I tried both MOMENTARY or TOGGLE and it makes no difference. Can you help? Thank you

I just wanna give you a big thanks. I sub’d to your channel back when you did your very critical review of the RC-10R. It talked me out of buying that at the time and I kept going with just the built in looper of my multi fx unit. Held out until the release of the RC-500 and was so glad I did. I personally don’t find it too hard to use and I see the logic in its parameter guide but it still kinda amazes me Boss doesn’t have a KZbin playlist of tutorials for it. Maybe they should get someone to do that 🤔😋

I got the RC-10R and I have to admit you are right. I am primarily a songwriter and I just find it too unwieldy to use. At the moment it’s just a relatively expensive practice tool for me…

I’ll attest to the RC-500 having a crap manual and being a handful to figure out. Seems like Boss completely abdicated responsibility and hoped somebody would step up and do the hard work for them. IMO, Boss should include your video course with their pedal and pay you a royalty instead of making us bang our heads against a wall.

I have one. It’s a great compact looper, build quality is better than boss, and much better pedals. Has a headphone out as well which is useful. It requires a firmware update tbh though. The 2 tracks don’t sync if you aren’t using the drums, it needs an all start/stop and the drums are not varied enough for my taste. Theee is apparently an update coming which will allow you to use the midi in for a midi controller. If they get that right, it will be an excellent option

I'll stick with my TC Helicon GTX. Sure the looping time isn't very long, but the smart harmonies are worth their weight in gold. How do none of these other loopers not have that smart tech for vocals 🤔

I want to love the GT1k Core. I love its features, but have had horrible issues with noise and degradation of signal using it in 4cm with my EVH Stealth. As soon as I engage the loops it gets a loud high pitched whine and terrible noise added to the signal. It isn't gound loop. It doesn't happen if I run direct from the core's output into the front of the am- only with the loops engaged. Built in noise gates don't help. Odd thing is if I add a mastering fx block (only works on the rock setting) then all that noise disappears. I gooogled the problem and I'm not the only one - the forums were filled with people with the same issue. I want to love it but if I can't figure out and fix the issue I think I may have to move away and try out the Fractal.

Does it not kill you there's NO TUNER on this thing?! Not even about the money I had to buy a Boss TU-3 pedal and I hate the hassle of the dongle setup so much I don't tune. Like how could they build something that does everything but tune? Maybe if enough people ask Boss to include a tuner in a future update they'll finally listen?
