Upgrading My Car Into an AMPHIBIOUS Monster Truck! (Crashlander Survival 7)

I'm back in Crashlander to continue my survival adventure and today I bring back all the loot that I got from the HQ, find a new place to live, and most importantly upgrade my tiny car into a super capable amphibious offroad monster!! You can pack the refinery, resource collector, smeltery and other stuff by putting them on your lift and deleting them, that way you can carry them in your backpack or put them in a storage box for easy transportation.

Yep, very true Kosmo. but don't do it with full cases as content gets deleted. And a water sensor for auto prop deployment. :)

It's a bit cheaty, so I doubt Kosmo will do that. Like duplicating items with a chest.

@@MarkkuS Well it's not in vanilla SM, but added in the mod, so I'd argue it's the way the Crashlander makers intended it to be used, and not "cheaty".

To make steering less wobbly on vehicles, always put the suspension above the steering ^^ The truck looks neat and you might wanna add steering at the back props too, because that would give you the opportunity to give them a 90° bent arm and raise them, when folded up. Also, you could give the tires propellers on free bearings to give them spinners XD

haha spinnnnas! I was actually going to have the propellers on the rear wheels, and have the wheels turn almost 90 degrees to make the props face backwards...but it was starting to look a bit bulky.

I have a survival world with adjacent islands; one with oil, one with a chemical plant and 2 giant trees. Super fun (and no robots on the islands!) and bridges everywhere. Going on year 3...

in raft mechanic i had a columb of propellers running down the middle of my autoboathome like a driveshaft would normally be. you could probably add something like that to the underside and only retract the steering prop when you get on land to help you get more speed on the water!

With the propellers, you have to spin them as fast as possible and have more of them. Double bearing works well for me but if you have only 1 propeller on the truck then you might wanna risk it with a triple bearing or just full sending a gas engine on a double bearing instead.

my first map kinda looked like this one, so i just built a tree base in the giant tree beside Bills (good shot of tree and it's proximity at 27:55) flat ground and lots of water, just need to find oil

oil can be hard to find. on 5 of my 7 saves oil ponds was located at edge of map far from everything. hope you are lucky with a better location. also stack bearings for those propellars

@@darealkosmo you could put the propellars at the front and have them pull you. then they can retract up under the hood. will also make it turn way better

I would not have picked an island way away from everything for a base...that will mean you have to go really long distances between the various quest people/locations just to get to the base and back. Given that though, it will be interesting to see how much or if you get frustrated once you are there and have to go back and forth so much. :) I hope you feel better soon and get over being sick and back to more fun videos again.

as a way for you to save some weight and maybe some sanity, you can put the smeltery on your lift than delete it from the left and it will go into your invintory than you can put it in a chest and it does not add weight, same for the resource collector and the refiner

at the end, you didn't need to upgrade the seat to change steering angle use a compact computer -- it's not just a crafting component 😁

My understanding with islands is if you prevent spawning on the island, raids just wont spawn. This also implies that you could leave one specific area they can spawn in to farm the raids.

You prevent spawning by building a floor over it. That island is too big to cover the entire island. Also, others have reported that wolves will spawn in water. (I am pretty sure the bots in vanilla won't spawn in water.)

Hey kosmo, dunno if you are aware. But if you put your big equipment, like the assembler, on the lift, and delete it, you can put it in your inventory. So it wont weight in your truck! It will be much easier to transport in water!. Also, i did my amphibious with wood 3, which is lighter and floats better. I have four big propellers stacked and i move really fast with an electric engine at max! Also, tip for looking for oil.. they are only in those oasis in the desert. They are never hidden behind rocks. Only in the middle of trees in a oasis like formation!

FYI, I think kAN's oil pond near Bill's place is hidden behind a rock, so both tiles are in Crashlander. (I have found two oasis oil ponds on my map so far and no oil ponds by a rock, so my map is similar to yours.)

You want to build Bill's shed while your base is by Bill's house. You'll need a lot of resources and workbenches to build the shed. I think putting your base on the island is a bad idea. Crashlanders requires you to run around the map a lot, and in particular you frequently visit Bill and visit the HQ. I recommend building near one or both of those, and not in an isolated spot. When you do get around to moving, you can pack your big machines by putting them on the lift and "deleting" them. They don't get actually deleted, they will be put into your inventory instead.

You could use the smaller vehicle as a mining vehicle though you probably couldn't use this refining and the collectors are also kind of big

DUDE!! YOU SHOULD BUILD A MOBILE BASE!! thatd be so cool bro..not a car,although the base should have deployable and retractable wheels for the "mobile" part but u could make like a tiny,moving fighting fortress with like a tower in the middle of 4 walls or 3 or whatever is easiest and that offers good protection.. maybe like a double spud turret? U could take it somewhere with alot of mobs and just park and wreck shop!! Just an idea...u could call it the Kosmodrome!!

There is some variation in the maps. I lucked out and got the oil pond right by Bill's. Kosmo didn't get it, and has searched on a live stream to prove it isn't there. There is probably at least one oil pond somewhere on his map, but he hasn't found it yet and it is probably a long way away.

@@terranterr267 It is procedural, so I think it forces at least one oil pond to be on the map. Agree the location is completely random. It is a pretty big map, so Kosmo may never find it.

Hey Kosmo there are two desert biomes one is just north of HQ about a couple of miles, and the other one is just south of Bill/s house it's about 3-4 miles away I know that the one north of the HQ is closer to your new base its also close to the mining cave entrance can't remember if you have been there yet
