I've had these installed since they were on Kickstarter, they've been working fantastic. I live in NL and my only complaint is i wish i had more.

Hey Mark. Great video. Love those thermostats. I am in the process of building a backyard suite now and will be ordering 5 of them. Nice rebate program here in NS too. About $50 off each. Also I noticed an error in your math on the office heating charge at the 4:48 mark. At about $0.148 per kWh you should of only spend about $0.592 to heat the office for that period. Maybe it was more than 4 kWh consumed. Keep up with the awesome videos!!

thank you for this video! was considering lite vs V2 and having a humidity sensor built in is a nice touch!

Is it true that we need one for every room in order to change the temperature accordingly to our schedule?
@philipperostin

You need one for every single regular thermostats you had before. In my case its one for each radiator, thus extensively costly.

Buddy, that looks like a Newfoundland backyard if I ever did see one. Jokes aside, I've had my eyes on these for a while. Your vid pushed me. Subbed :)

Does the backlighting turn off when not in use or does it stay lit up all the time? I am wondering about it for bedrooms

I just bought one and paired it a couple days ago. I'm not so sure it is an actual thermostat. It seems more like a smart controller. My Split behaves like it is still using the thermostat in the AC unit while Mysa just sets the temp. My room is always 4-5 degrees cooler than what I set. Probably the temp at the ceiling is exactly what I set. Does anyone know if my split gets temperature data from the Mysa or does Mysa just set the target temp for the thermostat in the AC unit?

You should turn on climate+ so it behaves more like an actual thermostat

@MarkSpurrell how have you found the Mysa LITE, do you think its enough? I'm thinking of grabbing just a couple of them instead of the v2.

It’s great for my garage because I don’t use my heaters in there as often, but I prefer the V2 because it gives me access to data about how much money I’m spending on heating.

4 kWh cost you $47? I hope not. Maybe $0.47.

Yes that is correct. The average residential cost of electricity in Canada is $0.192 per kWh.

I have 4 of them, which I purchased about 3 years ago at full price. I am not convinced I saved anything so far. The cost of re-heating after getting temp down at night is crazy. Plus I do think our Hydro plays with the power it delivers to houses, because sometimes, whatever the temp you target, it never goes there. Plus the fact that you need one for each radiator makes it a very expensive automation. Moreover, the Mysa thermostat are very hard to integrate with platforms others that Alexa and Google, which are very limited in term of automations compared to Hubitat and others. You cannot group for example to get the same on one full floor, you have to set them up individually. I am about to test a Sinope smart thermostat, which seams to have way more integrations, although quiet less appealing in term of design.

I am trying to get this Mysa to 'smartify' one split AC and my setup is on HA, I am curious why you dont save any money, do you have a fixed kWh electricity price?
@philipperostin
@philipperostin 13 күн бұрын
@@prekav6536 I use base board heaters. We have a very complex Hydroelec system where you pay different things at different rates and at different times. Our electricity bill is almost as long as a pay slip in terms of the number of lines. So yes I saved a little bit, but way short from the 20-25 % claimed by Mysa. May be I should get temperatures down to 16 to save a bit !
