UPGRADING MY OEM BRAKES FOR THE NURBURGRING

I just fitted a pair of mtecs yesterday, first bit of maintenance I've done on a car, actually went well 😁, mountain bikes sort of transfer well (bleeding them is wayyy harder though....)

I know right?! I spoke to Andy the top dog at Team Dynamics and he was genuinely confused why they've added soo much extra material onto the caliper. They could have shaved off quite a bit and it would have eliminated the issues people have with finding wheels that fit over them. I'll go into more depth about it in the next video 👌

Loving the vids! I have a question are you still loving your JCW I am hopefully picking one up next week. I am in the same sort of boat I have had m140i/ audi s3/ golf R but they all just felt bit bland to me. All been auto I have opted to go back to a manual as well to be more engaging. Mine is literally the same spec as yours apart from the pan roof 🤦‍♂️ all good though my other car has one 😂

Ceramic brake grease is supposed to be the grease of choice I hear as opposed to copperslip. Brought to you from the home of Ferodo brakes, although I don't think they would have made your brake pads here given how tiny the original factory is now, it is in the dying embers of life, a sad reflection of how manufacturing in the UK has gone.

I assumed I'd get a little tube in the box for close to £300 for the pair of pads and I was wrong 😅 Had to use the emergency copperslip from the shed. Better than nothing I guess. There is a brake pad factory about 15 miles from where I live. I'll have to look into who they supply 👀

@@lookship I'm guessing that'll be Mintex? I worked at Ferodo for 20 years, in the hey days they empolyed I believe 6,000 people, now there are less than 200 left. Yes that's a lot of money! and a bit of grease would have been nice.

@Peakwanderer just spoke to a mate of mine who used to work at the factory. Place called TMD. Stands for Textar Mintex and Don, but they also had orders with Pagid and Brembo.

Seen a lot of videos for F56 JCW brakes and no one seems to put grease on the back of the pads, so well done for doing so. Great video.
