Recently I made huge Create Mod Tunnel Bore, but it wouldn't be complete without a Autocannon for defense of my Minecraft colony!

There is an ammo box that allows you to set interspersed rounds of a different kind. Also, the firerate can be adjusted either by redstone power or scrollwheel depending on how it is controlled

you can drag an item from JEI onto a list filter and use it in a saw

for your shoreline batteries I hotly recommend just using normal big cannons, they are much more destructive and can use much cheaper mortar stones. idk which version you are using, but iirc it was added before the welding so - cast iron drop mortars on carriages every so often might be sensible. You'd need the special drop mortar rounds for that.

You can use rifle rounds and an ammo box instead of autocannon rounds. I'm pretty sure they are cheaper, but I haven't played big cannons in survival

Back in WW2 the B17 50cal had an ammo link that went armor piercing round armor piercing round incendiary round incendiary round tracer round. You could probably use something similar to save resources on ammunition types and make them last a bit longer.

iirc for fast firing weapons tracer rounds are 1 for every 10 or 20 and 1 to 4 for the slower ones
