We are first time buyers in the UK buying a new build from Bellway, we have chosen the Bellway Weston house type. A few weeks back we went to our bellway centre to pick out some new options for our house.
This has been a long process and many years of waiting for the plot we've had our name down for.
In this New Build Upgrades video mainly we choose our tiles, flooring and carpet and briefly discuss what to avoid and what to include if you don't mind spending the money.

Hi guys, we're going to have our first upgrades and specs appointment soon. Any advice on flooring choices? Pluming and electricity upgardes? Appliances, etc.. thanxxxx

Hey Amany, thank you for watching. Congratulations on the house got to love a cheeky upgrade meeting 😂 we’re more than happy to help. We have definitely get the benefits of having all the flooring done before we moved in. A huge weight off the shoulders. We only went for the top spec flooring in the living room, en-suite and WC everything else we found cheaper alternatives which look amazing. Down lights in all bathrooms and the kitchen have made the house look super clean and modern. We went for towel rails in the bathroom and en-suite finishes off the rooms really well. Half height tiles are good if you want them anyway. We upgraded the showers in the en-suite and bathroom to get rid of the electrical box in the shower. Appliance wise we got everything integrated and a double over again focusing on the cleaner finish. We were lucky and the integrated appliances were part of our incentives so saved some money there 😂😂 didn’t bother getting additional sockets as there is only 2 of us. Potentially ask for a light in the attic or under the stairs if that’s applicable we would’ve asked for one I think if we went back. We have uploaded an options cost breakdown video which along with the empty house tour details everything we went for. With your bellway property, have you had any snagging issues since?

Hello, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. A few things have come up. We had to get beading under the stairs as the floor was cut weird and didn’t go to the wall. The bottom of our kitchen cabinets was loose so they’ve had to re-clip them. Nothing major has happened yet though. We have requested for a light to be moved and our towel rail but that’s not really snagging just our preference. We’ve not had leaks or anything like some of the properties here but so far so good. At the end of the month we’re hiring snagsure to come do the rest. Hope this helps 😁👍

Oh sorry forgot to mention, we had to get a joiner in the refit some doors that were catching when we closed them.
