Another great video, sorry I'm late to the party again. Love GG&G stuff, really like that barrel clamp and aluminum mag tube cover. But being the cheapskate that I am, rather than spending money on that issue, I came up with a solution. In order to keep your original parts on the gun, remove the barrel clamp, take a new bicycle inner tube and split it down the middle. Take about a 3x3 inch piece of that tube, place one inside each of the clamps, mark the outside with a fine point sharpie, then cut to fit. You only want the rubber to be touching the mag tube cover not the barrel itself. Then super glue those pieces of tube to the inside of the clamps and reinstall. Omg, that thing doesn't move even from the recoil of 3" slugs. Easy fix, super cheap. Maybe one day I will buy the GG&G just for the coolness of it.

I’ve heard about the inner tube option and that’s not a bad one. Only issue is that the sling swivel mount point isn’t compatible with many swivels which was my situation. Thanks for watching!

I just purchased my A300 Ultima Patrol with a manufacture date of 8-8-24. I watched your cleaning dis-assemble/cleaning video (awesome work), and performed that with mine. When I took mine apart the tube cover is now 2 pieces from Beretta and where the 2 pieces meet this area forms a recess for the barrel clamp to fit in. I'm assuming this is to fix the issue of the clamp moving around. Once I get some time behind it, I guess I'll find out. Keep the great videos coming.

Beretta has since updated the design by incorporating a tapered ridge into their polymer magazine tube cover for the barrel clamp to rest in to prevent its movement not unlike GG&G's design. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. It's good to know that Beretta listens to their customers and takes steps to make their products better.

I was planning on ordering the GG&G set-up after buying a A300UP a couple of weeks ago, but the first thing I noticed was the design change. I'm going to see how it works out, but still may get the GG&G version either way.

Unfortunately the stock plastic rear sight is junk: one of the ears on mine broke after my Patrol rolled onto its side from 1 inch off the ground. I promptly replaced it with a fully adjustable metal rear sight from LPA. It's a part made for the 1301 but fits the Patrol; the only modification I had to do was slightly shorten the front sight screw so that it doesn't contact the barrel. It's a mandatory upgrade, IMO.

To keep my clamp from rubbing on the tube and barrel I used a piece of black felt that I bought at Hobby Lobby. All you have to do is cut it a little bit shorter than the clamp and you don’t really see it and you don’t have to worry about it melting if the barrel gets hot. You can get them in different thicknesses, the one I bought cost a whopping .25 cents.

Intresting. I just brought home an A300 UP today and my mag tube cover has a step in it for the clamp to keep it from moving too much where your's looks to be a continuous diameter. The clamp looks the same though. In any case I still plan to upgrade to the GG&G parts.

@@markn4526 They do for the most part but it's still the same cheesy plastic clamp with screws and nuts that are too small. The plastic cover might be fine but the clamp needs to be changed.

Yeah, just ran my 1301 through three days at Thunder Ranch and that plastic barrel clamp is worthless. Screws kept backing out, so I torque them a bit tighter, and the damn female end pulled right through the plastic clamp. It's garbage. Ordered an aluminum clamp and a Toni Systems extension to replace the plastic one.

Other than the Charging Handle being a bit too small for my liking... The annoying barrel clamp that never stays put, and the plastic magazine cover are the only weak points of the A300. I ordered the upgraded aluminum parts from GG&G for around a hundred bucks. I got everything within a couple weeks and it made a drastic improvment to the overall feel and function. Highly recommend!

The plug at the back QD - it's just a rubber plug. I pulled it out in abut 3 seconds. Don't back it out. Why? The first 2 QDs stuck just fine. BTW, you saved my ass with your take-down video I commented on a couple days back.

The aluminum upgraded tube cover and barrel clamps will not fit the A300 in a 5+1 configuration, but their +2 Shot Extension Tube for the 1301 Gen 2 does fit the A300UP for those who find themselves in a similar situation.

It will eventually stop so it wont matter. It will be snug but don't use any tools to finish tightening. the parts are pricey but not having that front QD mount slide anymore makes it worth it.

it has the potential to do so but we would need a longer magazine tube. Since the gas system rides over the mag tube and is separate any extender could potentially work.

Nice upgrade. Do you remove the plastic insert which holds the mag spring? On my A300, the last round doesn’t make it out of the magazine. I think the spring needs a little spacer but I’m having trouble removing that plastic retainer which holds the spring. Thanks. Edit: never mind. I took the disassembled Gun into sunlight and saw the detent plastic holding the plastic end in place. All good.

Not sure if the light at 45 degrees will work if mounted at 6 o’clock position? I guess the offset would then position light at either 7:00 or 5:00 depending on LH or RH shooter?

For some owners the QD mount doesn’t work anyway. Mine was fine but with it moving it really can’t serve a functional purpose so yes, it was an expensive change or upgrade.

Have you had any problems with cycling? I tried different rounds from different companies and i always have the last round get stuck halfway in the magtube while the bolt locks back. With just a pull and release on the bolt handle the round chambers but its weird its only ever the last round. Could it be the spring??

Just a note: If you live in a regressive, fascist State like Illinois... don't get too excited about this. Not applicable to the 5 round "certain" State compliant models of the A300 Patrol. The frustrating thing is, most vendors while selling the legal compliant model are not using the correct photo of the compliant model on their websites. They are using the standard model graphic. The guns are substantially different in appearance. The appeal of the A300 Patrol is its tactically aggressive appearance, the compliant model, while still a Baretta and great SG, looks more like Uncle Hank's duck gun. When I picked mine up last week, I thought the guy handed me the wrong gun. Moreover, they weren't even aware of the difference, they were stunned as well. Again, it's still a Baretta, and there are ways to tweak its appearance. But I'm having to spend another roughly $800 bucks to do so. Oh well, live and learn!
