Upgrading The Fluval FLEX - AI Blade/P Skimmer/Filtration/Lid - 2023 - 4K

Welcome back to the channel guys !
Ive been looking forward to this day for quite some time now.
Its finally time to upgrade the Flex in the hopes i have addresses all the previous issues which caused my first ever tank crash.
Special shout out to my friend Jason who helped with customising my Lid for the flex. And another shout out to my subscriber Hef who gifted me a protein skimmer. You guys are amazing!

If you want stable rocks, add them before sand as so many critters we keep in reef tank will bury themselves in sand and undermine the rock

I was wondering if you could have added the blade light with the old lid ? What was the reason for different lid different look or something else ? Thanks for any info looking at upgrading my tank .

Hey pom. Thanks for watching. Couple of reasons I upgraded lid. 1.The blades are pretty powerful so plan is yo eventually raise them up of the lid. 2. Tanks runs pretty hot in summer so wanted a lid that I could use a fan with. Hope that helps pom. Appreciate the support on the channel. Hope you enjoy the other videos.

You should have just left the sponge. Lots more surface area than adding the bio rings.

Hello i have Fluval flex 123 with fluval ps1 but have to much bubble can check my video pls and help me this is normal

Hey izmqna. Unfortunately yes these nano protein skimmers produce a ton of micro bubbles in the tank. Even after optimising the skimmer as much as possible the nano skimmers create alot of micro bubbles. I have not come up with a solution myself other than running without a skimmer. I have added extra filtration and keep up with 1 week water changes (20-30% water) which works very well since I stopped running my nano skimmer. If you want to run your skimmer it's still fine as micro bubbles aren't a big problem. They just annoy me 😀
