@@HunterDirection of course!! Be cautious of lowering your car too low, the upper control arms can hit the inner fender and they can hit where they’re mounted. I have 15” rims though so my car can probably go lower then the S4. I think you had replaced your upper control arms already, I ended getting adjustable ones. JUST Engineering makes a pretty cool angle kit for anyone wanting to replace everything lol.
@HunterDirection Жыл бұрын
@@DustySteel Thank you for the warning! Hmm maybe it will be best in that case to wait until my adjustable arms are here to throw on the coilovers. Ill have to play around with the fitment to see what works best. I don't want to slam the car or anything. I want to lower it just enough to get the benefits of the coilovers without making it undrivable. The stock suspension is pretty shot haha.
@DustySteel Жыл бұрын
@@HunterDirection you’re welcome. I would definitely wait because you’ll need to disconnect the upper control arms anyways. The whole assembly is meant to be taken out as one from the top of strut tower in the engine bay. It can be done without taking everything off but it’s easier to do it all in one. There’s also an annoying clip on the underside of the tower that is easier to just cut off and not be put back on.🤣 My car isn’t slammed but looks really good with the 15” which is too low. I’m going to get bigger wider wheels and raise my car up more then it is now. That’s what I liked about Solo Werks, they can go -/+ 3”.

I have a question, when you tuned the car did it at all raise the idle rpms? I bought my s4 with a tune already on it and the idle is a bit high but it is a smooth idle which rules out a clogged injector, bad coilpack/spark plug (they have been upgraded to the 2.0 conversion) and from what I hear a vacuum leak can cause a high idle but it would be a bit choppy. I heard somewhere that a tune can raise the idle but I cannot find much information on it.

I have the H&R kit for my B6. I wasn't going to put the front bar on. But maybe you recommend I put the rear on the stiffest setting and the front on the softer? That will reduce my understeer? I was only using the rear to do just that!
@HunterDirection Жыл бұрын
Hmm that's a good question. I primarily replaced mine because it was starting to rust out and I wanted a good foundation going forward. I will reply again after a bit more seat time with the new setup and better impressions. So long as the rear is relatively stiffer than the front it will help with rotation. It's also a pretty easy swap so you could always try it since you have the part already. Someday I'll pick up a b6 s4 haha. They are awesome cars. Thank you for the support!
