Just an FYI for everyone: I just had my wisdom teeth removed this morning, I am home recovering and doing well. If my comment responses seem short, it's bc I'm rather loopy right now! God Bless

Looks good man, how long is that barrel Jeff? 28" i think my 11-87 sp turkey only has a 20" barrel
@foxhilloutdoors21344 жыл бұрын

I have a buddy that bought one for paper shoots (can't think of the name) he sent me a pic of the Rob Roberts .660 vs his Kicks .655, and the RR pattern was twice as good at 20 yards

You could also get the 24" barrell they make esp for their 1187 Turkey gun. That's what I currently use and it's so much nicer getting through brush with that shorter barrell. Esp when I'm out in Nebraska and S Dakota going through cedars. Looks good though. Always good videos.

Thank you Mike. I personally love the 28" barrel. My Mossberg is my compact turkey gun and it kicks like a mule.
@mikesyverson81264 жыл бұрын
@@foxhilloutdoors2134 WOW! Yes I have a Mossberg dipped (bottomland like your gun) 835 turkey edition too but my gosh that thing is like shooting a cannon with 3.5"s. Slayed many birds with that thing though.

Is this a waterfowl gun or a turkey only gun...with the red dot seams like a specific only gun...???
@foxhilloutdoors21343 жыл бұрын
This is one of my turkey guns. I've never waterfowl hunted, but I'd like to someday.

What was your 11-87 like before the hydro dip ? Did it have a wood stock or synthetic, blued barrel,ect? Hydro- dip cost estimate? I’m interested in doing the same as you but mine has nice glossy wood and blued finish. Yours looks awesome!
@foxhilloutdoors21342 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late response. Mine has a synthetic stock. It was dipped from the manufacturer in Realtree Hardwoods. The hydro dip cost around $200 I think?? Can't really remember. It was well worth it though! If your has the wood stock and blued barrel, I would recommend leaving it alone. The natural beauty of your gun is a timeless look in my opinion.

can i use super magnum cartridges on 11-87? I'm brazilian!
@foxhilloutdoors21344 жыл бұрын
On the barrel of the gun, it will tell you the size shell you can use. Super Mag means 3.5" shells

To remove the charging handle, you pull straight outwards. Very simple

It's a great gun. Recoil is great compared to my Mossberg lol
I have a remington 11-87 in Brazil, what is the best choke for slugs?
@foxhilloutdoors21343 жыл бұрын
No slugs should ever be shot through a choke.
@MikeNaples3 жыл бұрын
I disagree with Fox Hill Outdoors. You can safely fire slugs in a shotgun with a choke without damaging your gun. I have an 11-87 and switch to IC (improved cylinder) choke for slugs and use a full choke for shot. Sometimes the ammo box will have a recommendation for the optimum choke. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmKynKODbpylmbM
