Upgrading The Tacoma AC Lights To LEDs

I upgraded the bulbs to LEDs for the AC unit in the 2004 Tacoma. I had a hard time figuring out the right size for the LEDs, I just swapped the LEDs into the OEM Toyota incandescent bulb holders.

Not gonna lie I was very intimidated changing the LED bulb to the OEM connectors but after I did one correctly I was excited to get the rest done. Yes I do believe the 02 4Runner climate control covers do not have the orange/red film because the bulbs have green "condoms" over them that matches with the instrument cluster green theme lighting.

How well is the light diffused in person? A little hard to tell but it seemed like there were hot spots where the led is installed.

The first link does not work for 2002 Tacoma climate control unit. I ended up breaking my unit but will go to a junk yard to buy a replacement part soon. I will give the second link a try as you made it work just fine.

What about upgrading the A/C and Recycle button lights? Mine are very weak and during the day can't read.

888 WERKES How did you manage to remove the stock bulbs and reuse the Toyota connector? I was being really careful but it just would not budge and i ended up breaking it

Jonathan Torres you can’t take them out without pulling out the entire board. Access the housing from the backside then twist and pull. If you only pulled or you only tried from the front you won’t be able to

I replaced the climate control LEDs with the super right LEDs in 2018 and they are still working great. Specifically I bought "NEO4-WHP: 4mm NEO4-xHP Cool White"
