Great video. I was planning to upgrade mine. I’m not sure if your tundra comes with it, but you didn’t mention the bulb that lights up the driver’s floor. It’s located about 4 inches southeast of the fuse box. It’s attached to a silver bracket with the bulb pointed to the front of the car. Mine is a 04 crew cab SR5

Pro tip-No one should mess with changing the lower light bulbs-like the check engine lights, or the gas light etc. if you put LED’s in those slots, they will always stay on, whether you’re low on gas or not. So just stick with the OEM bulbs for that bottom row of the gauge cluster.

I had excellent luck with this video, going through step by step. I had good luck with all the gear indicator lights too - used the LEDs and with the exception of having to reverse "R", "N", "2", everything was all good. I used a small flathead screwdriver to unscrew those lights and that worked well. Had an angle pair of tweezers as well. Lighting is nice and bright. Thank you very much for an EXCELLENT video. I didn't touch any of the warning lights, but did notice that I have 4H and 4L "lights" in there even though I have a 2WD vehicle. So there are at least 2 extra standard bulbs in there for me. sal great video. i have learned a lot from you. thank you!!! i swapped my bulbs to green first on the dash but too green. i ended up going back to white. I think I lowered the lower kick panel more than I really had to and I ended up breaking the mounting brackets on the small dash piece that holds the cluster brightness knob and my heated mirror button (which I didn't know I really had lol) I ended up having to take the cluster out again because I didn't realize that I didn't have one of the bulbs seated correctly, and i wanted to switch them from green to white. the second time around I now have a gap where the kick panel meets the dash. do you happen to have any idea why I have a gap; do I not have something seated properly? if you are in the drivers seat are there tabs on the lower left edge kick panel or plastic "colums" just there as a guide when you slide the lower kick panel in? If there are tabs with lips on the edge then I am pretty sure the lip edge broke when dropping the panel. any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry for the super delayed response!Hmm, I haven't had that panel off in a while so I forget what exactly it looks like and what could be jammed up or preventing it from sitting flush. I would recommend just taking your time going around the whole panel and looking for where it feels like it's binding up the most and investigating more. Sorry I don't have a better answer, but thanks for watching!

The bulbs for the Cargo light button, 4Hi/4Lo button, etc. Those are T5 ?
@JDMDriveway6 ай бұрын
I think they're way smaller than that, some sort of specialty bulb, and I'm not exactly sure how you swap them. Sorry I'm not of more help there. Thanks for watching!

Great video! How are your lights holding up? Most people I know that have light leds from amazon have had mixed results.

I've actually had good luck with all of these lights. No failures yet, knock on wood lol thanks for watching!

If you put green leds will it look more like the green glow the tundra comes with as they have the green film on the original bulbs? I’d be interested to see what that looks like. Haven’t seen anyone use green yet. I have an 06 crew cab so I guess I wouldn’t be able to do the gauge cluster so easily which sucks but thanks for the heads up!

Yeah I'd be worried that the green LED is too green if that makes sense, not a soft green like the stock ones. Thanks for watching!

Haha I don't think so, but I wouldn't blame you if you did 😂 going with a different color backlight could be cool too. Thanks for watching!

Just upgraded mine and the check engine light came on after any ideas of what might of happened? Gonna open it up again and make sure everything is dialed in

Dang, that's weird. I wonder if you replaced those warning lights with LEDs too that maybe its confusing something back there. I only did the backlights and haven't had any issues. Hope its an easy fix, and thanks for watching!

I have a 2005 Tundra CrewCab 4WD. What headlight bulb would you recommend; I need something brighter, but not so bright that oncoming vehicles will be flashing their lights at me. Thank you.
@JDMDriveway7 ай бұрын
I still recommend the CO Light LED projectors. I made a video about them linked below. They are different than other LED bulbs because they make a cutoff for the light and I have never gotten flashed by an oncoming driver. Thanks for watching! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHXMXpl_pZWdodk

there is a "footwell" bulb on the driver side below/behind the dash - seems to shine down on the gas/break when door is opened (I think this is what triggers it, but mine doesn't work apparently). did you notice this one? i can't seem to get mine out.
@JDMDriveway Жыл бұрын
Yep, someone pointed that out to me and I replaced it. It definitely took some finagling to get the bulb out, but it was a size T-5 and definitely did a good job lighting up the footwell with the door open. Especially considering the old bulb was burned out 😂 thanks for watching!

Which head unit are you using? I put the Atoto AP6F (I think?) in mine and it doesn't sit as flush as yours

On my first gen (2002) my voltage is crazy high on the cluster??? like it is a few degrees from the top bar high. Anything I might want to check like a short somewhere?

Huh, that sounds a little weird. Not sure where to start looking to be honest lol, maybe the alternator itself?

Hi. Which bulb was it for the 2wd and center diff lock? Thanks
@JDMDriveway Жыл бұрын
If you're talking about the bulb sitting inside of the button itself, I'm not sure. I didn't play around with pulling those out to get access. It'd have to be pretty tiny though. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you! Thanks for watching though - Sal
