On my polo I had the 3 spoke steering wheel so I bit the bullet and bought the golf mk5 gti wheel and it’s defo one of my fav mods

I really love these mods you do on the Polo. Rather than making it "ricey" like any 17 year old kid out there, you pretty much make it look nice and still keep it subtle in places. This steering wheel cover definitely looks awesome altho you could have done better job sewing the bottom ribs of the steering wheel lol (I probably couldn't have done it better myself tbh :P) but other than that it really looks good! Next thing for the Polo maybe do tinted windows? I don't know much about regulations in the UK but in here you're only allowed to tint the rear windows and the rear windscreen, front ones aren't allowed to be touched at all. On my first car I did replace the shift knob onto something nicer to touch so maybe you can do that as well if you want. Great video as always man!

For a relatively cheap DIY mod that looks pretty good. The cloth bits aren't perfect but the top section you'd never know wasn't part of the wheel. If I had a cheap car then I might do something like this, much cheaper than a decent replacement wheel. Also 14:14 - there's some rage in that experession!

Exactly that - was made more difficult by my own inexperience, and I could probably get a better stretch of the cloth if I did it again, but overall I'm happy with it! And lol I've just edited out the end bit, but I know what you're referring to based on the raw file - thinking I might drop a blooper reel at the end of the year with some of the more funny screw ups

Looks great Jonny! I’ve just put an omp Targa wheel in mine. Too good of a deal to miss, £50 genuine with a boss kit and wiring! Feels so much better too. At the end of the say thats the thing you’ll see and feel most when driving so it’s deffo worth it.

On my polo i have a leather steering wheel the gt model is the same with different colour stitching and gt engraved in it i think

So, from all the reviews I've seen you do, I've started getting split between a Fiat panda 100 HP and a fiat punto evo sporting. Here's a couple of things I like about the two of them: Punto Sporting | Panda 100hp +Nicer looks | +Said to feel sportier and more fun to drive +Nicer interior | +Nice exhaust - Steering and | +Pretty good exterior looks gearbox are | - pretty mediocre interior looks said to feel dull | - less technology to offer +more tech. | - more expensive road tax ( 80 quid gap ) +better | +6 speed gearbox performance | - worse MPG ( 7 MPG difference ) +cheaper | road tax | +better MPG In terms of insurance I seem to fall for nearly identical offers ( not even a 50 quid gap ), and the annual road tax seems to be 80 quid cheaper on the punto than it'd be on the panda. So what'd be your choice between these two? I find the punto to be nicer to have as the first two years of driving, while the panda would be fun. But, as fun as it is said to be, you've also said it's not that comfortable to drive for long roads.

My '06 Polo's check engine & airbag light recently came on and the radio drains the battery when the car's not running. Makes me envious of Penny :'( Didn't know driving would be so expensive :D

You need to wire your radio into the fuze box so it only turns on with ignition

Hope someone can help, on my 9n3 the engine light keeps coming on and off. Was told to run it on 99 octane as it would ‘ clean the engine’ and solve the problem. I’ve used shell 99 octane for about 2 months and still no luck, it goes for for couple of days then back on for a week or two. Is this common on polos?

Definitely not a perfect job, but for sake of £80 and the car being a cheap runabout, I guess I couldn't justify spending £300 fucking 💷 on custom steering wheel like I did. Overall, not a bad job mate. If you aren't a full on perfectionist with shit like that it's definitely a decent option to get a nicer looking & feeling steering wheel
