Upgrading to the SONY A7RV from the A7IV | Is It Worth It?

My first sony camera was the original a7r & I love this line. I upgraded from the R4 because of the extra stabilization, viewfinder screen and video specs. I have had it for a year and a half & absolutely love it. The stabilization at this resolution is special. For manual focus work the extra resolution on the viewfinder is a huge bonus. Also when using DMF and the extra pixels matter because of the possibility of reframing - making several stills with different perspectives from one image. The detail too. On the desktop I don't have an issue of editing compressed raw. But hard discs flll up. It is a camera that I would thoroughly recommend

@@gitithadani thanks for sharing and yes my hard drive definitely runs out faster than before 😁 this is my first a7r camera and i honestly wish i just paid the extra money and went with this to begin with.

Thanks for an insightful comparison. Having only owned the a7III, a7IV and a7cII I’ve been curious about the incremental improvement from 33mp to 61mp and have if I’d see a difference. Have been planning on getting the soon to be released a7V to get the new features and tech but wondering if you can comment on the 61mp tradeoff between resolution and low light noise?

thanks for watching! tbh 61MP has been an absolute game changer, especially if you do alot of photography. the amount of data you have to play with, especially in the editing room is great if you need to touch up your subject, reframe, remove unwanted blemishes, etc. is just crazy. if you're referring to the low light noise and resolution via video, I honestly haven't noticed much of a dip in quality between my a7IV, FX3 or a7RV. Maybe i'll make a video going into depth with comparing the video quality next :D
