Have never regretted my move from Fuji to the a7rv. It’s really a great camera. Still lookingat Fuji videos from time to time. Funny to see they still have some autofocus issues after all those years.

Not going to deny, i’ve always wanted a Fuji 👀 something about the colours

You said EVF, I think you meant the back screen. The EVF is the highest resolution on the market and folks keep forgetting Sony leads the EVF market even if the screen isn’t the best. Like you said, it’s still plenty good and works for what you need.
@DannyBlighАй бұрын
Quite possibly!! 👀 but yeah, i think sometimes we all over-criticise some areas. Thanks for watching
@Timage74Ай бұрын
No it‘s not. I own the sony r5 and the canon r5c. The EVF and specialy the LCD are much better on the canons. The colors and the image on both screens are so much better. I love my sony but the canon it way better in this regard. I couldn‘t believe it at first but it‘s easy to see. Crazy….
@sneakergearzАй бұрын
@@Timage74 Canons EVF is 5.76 and the Sonys is 9.44. Sonys is almost double the resolution. Not talking about the screens which Canons is better but the Rv still does an excellent job.
@Timage74Ай бұрын
@ I know. That‘s on paper. But once you look through it, it‘s totaly an other story. Crazy I know. In low light it‘s even more noticable. The sony gets crazy grainy but the canon doesn‘t. I‘m puzzeled my selfe.

For some reason as high the evf is it’s still doesn’t hold up to the old Leica Sl2s evf I don’t know if it’s the colors or the glass that Leica uses.

Great video, Danny - thanks. 124K - Wow! I just bought my A7RV a couple months ago. My prior Sony -- SLT A99-II was THE perfect camera for me -- a DSLR with so many cool features you see on mirrorless cameras. I thought I shot a lot - as I ended up with 76,000 photos (From 2017-2024) but your 124,000 in just 2 years is a huge testament to the A7RV. And, the shutter actuation benchmark for the A7RV is ~500K shots so this camera is built for shooting. I also just bought the Sony G-Master 200-600mm F5.6-F6.3 Zoom from B&H. Hoping to add a bit of bird photography (bald eagles) to my game and can't wait to pair the lens with the A7RV. Again - thanks for this video -- love your work; keep grinding my friend. Cheers.

Great video thanks for your review. I am a A74 and just about to buy A7rV for wildlife this will give me the option to crop. I agree with you 15fps would be great… I’m sure they will add pre-shot to the new a new model, seems to be the way they are going. Anyway thanks again and have a nice day.. 👍🏻

I bought a A7R5 a couple of years ago along with a Tamron 20-40mm. It's been great for my work which is mainly social media now. So I'm mainly in vertical mode for photo and video, the sensor being able to punch in to 60mm is very helpful.
@DannyBlighАй бұрын
Glad you like it!! What’s the tamron like?
@markshirley01Ай бұрын
@DannyBligh great - in vertical it covers most of what I need to shoot - I do a lot of hospitality and event work. It's never been off the camera. F2.8 is plenty bright enough, it focuses fast, it's relatively lightweight and not to big. Before I was a Nikon prime shooter, I think it was one of your videos that pushed me to buy the A7R5, I struggled a bit at first learning to use all the custom buttons, but now I work pretty fast. I find a lot of the auto settings like ISO and WB to be actually useful, and the colour isn't bad like a lot of people suggested.

Believe it or not, I actually WOULD want more res on the mark 6, lol. And the reason for that, is glass. The biggest benefit of resolution, IMO, is reducing my lens carry. Hi-res lets me take 2 fast primes, and cover the other focal ranges I might need with megapixels. That’s the whole idea behind the Leica Q and M series, and even the Fuji X100vi. Resolution is about more than just cropping for composition…it’s a powerful tool that comes with zero weight and size penalty.

I’m in total agreement Danny, I shoot with the A7RV and the A7IV as a corporate events photographer, taken about 100k shots across the two in the past year. Going forward I’d replace the A7IV with the A7RVI when released and shoot with the two R bodies as a combo 😊

I think i would too! Like I say, it’s not needed, it’s probably overkill for some people but i absolutely love the ability of the camera. Excited to see what happens next

My take on this Camera after a year. Images start to get noisy very fast after ISO1600. Video is supernoisy as well and 4K60 has a crop. Its very slow in Burst mode with low FPS. Misses eye Focus sometimes. Screen is laggy when shotting burst and blacks out. Switching between EVF and Monitor can be very slow with a noticable delay. The EVF image quality gets bad once you half press the shutter to lock on Focus. I ended up using the S5II instead for most stuff, as it also offers Precapture, 30FPS RAW for Wildlife and better Video, way less noise in Photos and Video. For way less money. In controlled Studio Light the A7RV does deliver with its resolution.
@leezheng8161Ай бұрын
Totally agree! I love the A7R V. Pretty much everything except I wish Sony can make the sensor readout speed on this camera faster. A stacked 61 mp sensor would be nice. But I don't see this happening until the A1 gets the global shutter. So for now, I am tempting to get the upcoming A1 mark II which is an A7 V on steroids haha

Yeahhhh, i’m excited to see what they have done with it 🙌🏻
@Gerald_GАй бұрын
It really is a fantastic camera. Yes, a tad higher frame rate would be awesome. I know they have to have some distinction between it and the A1, but yeah 15 fps photos would be great. But that’s definitely a minor issue compared to all the other benefits of the camera. It’s crazy good and reliable…even in long form video, which wasn’t the case for me with the A7IV and why I ended up selling it.

The only reason the A7RV isn't the flagship over the A1 in my opinion is the fps. I agree 61MP is plenty. I wouldn't mind a stacked sensor, to give the electronic shutter more fps. 20-30 fps would be ideal and give 70 to the A1 iii (because I'm skipping on the A1 ii...). Also, the shutter speed needs to double or quadruple from 8k. I would also like Multiple Exposures in body, like Canon. Also, they need to fix the Silent Shutter banding issues. Maybe match the body of the a9. I love this camera and would only like to see a few improvements. Keep the cost reasonable, because the a9 and a1 prices are ridiculous and unnecessary imo.

Personally my next upgrade will probably be the A1 III, Sony will have a global readout by then and the RV will surely outlast the A1II's lifespan... Unless I need a second high res body at any point before then.

I'd like to switch to Sony after 10 years with Canon, I'm thinking of going for the A7RV but at the same time for the same price I could get the A7IV + Lens, or just wait for the A7V to come out at the beginning of the year...
