Glad that went well! I actually started out with a Mint 17 install and have been "Upgrading" via the update manager for the past 4 years or so till my current version of Linux Mint 19.3 which am rather fond of and it's working out quiet well for me. Tried the latest version of Mint in a live session and feel that it's going backwards yet again with regards to my printer support and networking so will stay on 19.3 for some time to come. Granted and am sure not everyone has success stories with upgrading their software. Perhaps a future video will be interesting to see how new user feels about LTS releases vs rolling releases? Hope to see you soon back here releasing your videos as have been somewhat quiet of recent? Hope and trust all is well!

4:00 This pop-up is triggered after the "apt update" that is run by the do-release-upgrade command, so it has nothing to do with the state of the machine before you started the upgrade process. And because you're running the terminal command, you should ignore any GUI message you get. Keep your eyes on the terminal.

@Voodoo Yam Sid is Unstable though and the OP sounds like he/she wants a rolling type release that is relatively stable. Debian Testing is much better option for that. No-one is going to choose sid as a reliable daily system.

Just a farewell comment; Wales has always been regarded by the people I grew up with as where the renaissance really came from. Stratford on Avon is somewhere I visited long ago, & whether it's like that everywhere in Wales, pictures here & there, & the people i've known for so many years make it someplace like Shangri-La, only in fantasy. So I wish you all luck in the coming mutation of human evolution. People all over the world are starting to understand how truly feckless the trust of leaders has been during this whole 'cock-up' that came from China. I'm so sorry that you haven't had a chance to live long & full lives, and admit it won't trouble me as much now I'm old. Remember not to let your fear change how you react. Anger can be prudent if it's righteous. Otherwise it is just more evil. Unfortunately, we've come about as far down the road to where knowledge has given us enough to see catastrophy in the offing, no matter what happens. Personally, holding the responsible ones accountable is never a bad way to go out, & world citizens need to start broaching that soon, me thinks.

My gawd!! I can't believe how bloated Kubuntu is. Approaching windows-esq. Also, can't believe how similar the UI is to windows, straight up copycopy action.
@armorgeddon3 жыл бұрын
What's the bloat you mean? Btw it's unlike Windows in so many ways.

It has a Minimal install which is actually bearable. As for the UI though, literally the only Windows similarity is the bottom panel. Everything else is so much better.
