The Human Rights Act serves as a powerful mechanism to assist older people to uphold their rights. Frontline organisations are often the first to recognise when a person’s rights have been limited. Community sector professionals play a pivotal role in ensuring service delivery is aligned with the Human Rights Act.
This session (recorded on 22 May 2024) provides valuable insights into how the Human Rights Act can be used to uphold the rights of older people.
Guest panellists include:
-Tilé Imo, Associate Director - Health Justice Partnerships, Caxton Legal Centre
-Jason Abraham, Lawyer, ADA Law
-Samantha Shipman, Manager Investigations Team, Office of the Public Guardian
-Deanne Lawrie, Regional and Remote Community Engagement Officer, Elder Abuse Prevention Unit, UnitingCare.
