Another great video. Two days ago I bought my wife an M&P Shield 9mm for her to keep in her purse and car. The factory mags loaded easy to the last 2 rounds. This is a single stack 7 and 8 round. So you really don't want to leave out 2 rounds. They were both so stiff on the last round I actually dented the casing of of the top round trying to get the last round in the mag. Yesterday I bought an Uplula from the same shop we bought the weapon on a recommendation from the shop. He took a few seconds to show us how it worked and I was sold. Brought it home and can load both mags to the last round in about half the time it took to load one of them by hand. I had the same trouble that you did with the alignment but a grip change fixed that issue. I just grip the uplula like I would the grip of a pistol and it stays in alignment perfectly. Thanks for all the great material!

LOL. People should take your rating and opinion with a grain of salt too. You tried to load a single-stack mag with a double-stack loader, so you obviously don't know what you are doing. Butler Creek is the Company that makes the UpLULA and the ASAP. DERP.

We could care less if there's a mere half minute difference. We're not competitors at a speed loading sports event. We just want a cost effective product that at least works decently. Especially with the high costs of ammo, that started back when you uploaded this video 3 years ago , there's not nearly as many people shooting their guns for fun and thus would a quite a few magazines to load up, but shooting them now n then for more of the purposes to keep in the grove with their shooting skills.

I don't think the Butler Creel loader would do better if you only load 17 round mags. It would likely start getting into trouble at around 10 rounds. It's not the total number of rounds to load, it'd how much spring tension the tool has to overcome.

@@deuceandguns Hey BC, I am this ( makes tiny sign with 2 fingers ) close to making the plunge and getting my first Black Powder revolver. I think I have told you I live on a low SSDI disability income so buying anything i can't eat has to wait and be saved up for. well this last year I have bought all the things I need for Black Powder. Brass Powder Flask, Brass Powder Measure, brass capper, Nipple wrench, 100 .454 round lead balls, 100 pre lubed wads, One Lb Black Powder substitute, Pkg #10 Remington Percussion caps. I was originally going to wait for Cabelas sale to buy the Pieta1851 Confederate Navy for $149.99 on sale. However after more thought I waited another month to save up for the Brass Frame Pieta 1858 New Army for $229.99. I have been experimenting with making paper cartridges using cig rolling p[apers. Have you ever rolled your own paper catridges for your BP revolvers?
@deuceandguns
@deuceandguns 5 жыл бұрын
@@Bill23799 I've never tried the paper cartridges but I've seen people use them. The 1858 New Army is nice because you don't have to deal with the wedge every time you're cleaning and that wedge does wear out eventually.

@@deuceandguns I had a chance to handle a 1851 Navy in a Pwn shop. The grip seemed a bit small for me. Not that I have BIG hands. I read the 1858 has little larger grips. If you ever do try making your own paper cartridges i think it would make a nice BP video for you to show. I think during the Civil War that is primarily how they reloaded revolvers in battle. Pre made packs holding 6 paper cartridges and 8 percussion caps. Extras in case you drop one.

Is a 17rd glock magazine really no problem? I would have thought the increasing spring tension as the follower descends was at least part of the problem, that might not scale exactly as you think. Just curious, I have no experience to make a statement but if the problem is % of rounds loaded then it's even worse than you thought.

I've always liked & used the simple Glock speed loaders that slide over the magazine & have no moving parts. You just slip it over pressing down on the follower or rounds already loaded, put a round in & release pressure, slide round in rest of the way & repeat. Also if I lose one they're only like $7 so they're "disposable" so if I lose one no big deal.

I hold the Uplula loader a little different. Instead of looking directly into the chute, I'm looking at the side with the chute to the right, if right handed. Hand wrapped around loader with my 4 finger tips on the front and thumb wrapped over top strap, pointing at about 10 o'clock. The downward pressure is applied with thumb instead of having to hard grip the loader. But that's just me.

The only high capacity mag I own today is the 30 round double stack/double sided coffin mag for my S.I.T.E.S. Spectre M4 9mm. The Uplula won't fit over that monster. Good thing it came with it's own dedicated speed loader. I tried loading it by hand once and after 20 rounds my thumb threw in the towel. The mag is like two double stack 9mm mags side by side that feed up into one stack.

-You (anyone) might consider the comparatively cheap ($6-$7) Glock/glock-style loader you can get from ebay (and almost anywhere else). -It works fine, is simple and easy to use and you can get three for the price of either of these, and get change back. -It is one piece, no parts to break or lose. -It may take a few seconds longer to use but you don't always have to speed-reload.-In fact, hardly any of us ever do.

@@keldonator kinda hard not knowing what his time is on the 33rd grease gun mag w/either loader.. so there's that. Also, I don't do Glock, mainly Sig & Springfield.

@@RideForLifeCR250R this video shows the time of the 33 round Glock magazine with a loader... In order for you to smash his time it would have to be the same magazine like he compared in the video, obviously

@@keldonator absolutely, eliminate variables. I didn't realize/remember if he'd timed himself loading a grease gun mag. Unfortunately due to the state in which I reside in passing mag capacity regulations, getting a 33 rounder poses a small hurdle.

@@RideForLifeCR250R I guess due to your statement you already beat his time with the same magazine, I guess it was just blowing smoke 😅

At some point after this video was made they stopped selling it on Amazon but it can be found in sporting goods stores and on their websites.
