Great thanks to the author! I'm very glad that eventually someone gives us such valuable content. Being Electrical Control Design Engineer I find this videos extremely valuable for me. So, please sir, provide more information about designing (preferably using EPLAN) industrial automation. For example using safety relays, sensors connection on the diagram, designing control panels, dealing with terminals and so... Perhaps looking through out one of your projects

Great video.!!!! I may be mistaken but shouldn't the "motor fault " XIC bit be in series with the stop XIC?
@Upmation
@Upmation 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Ben! Sorry for missing out on your comment. The short answer to your question is, No! That is because the stop condition will depend on "Stop" AND "XIC" at the same time. It means that to be able to stop the motor, there should be a motor fault AND the "Stop" push button should be pushed simultaneously. For instance, if we push the "Stop" push button and there is not a motor fault in the circuit, then the motor WILL NOT STOP. So putting them in parallel will make them independent. Please let me know if I can be of further help.

Hi, I am confused about wiring in 7:28. I see that you have used sinking type of connection(24VDC to coils), but i have checked the electrical diagram of this module in datasheet, and I saw that the outputs should be connected to the GND(sourcing type of output module), not 24VDC. Is this particular module both sinking and sourcing, I cannot find the information about that. Sorry, for my English skills ;) I would be grateful for response

Some things bother me in the wiring diagrams. On the motor connection circuit L1; L2; L3 goes to W1; V1; U1... should be the other way around. So your reverse will actually make the motor go the intended way and vice versa. @5:28 the other ends of Outputs are connected to 24V... should go to 0V
@Upmation
@Upmation 3 жыл бұрын
Hey, Taavi! It seems these designations come from a standard which goes back to the early days of three-phase equipment. You're completely right about @5:28. For other people who read this, PLC DO cards will output the control voltage (24 volts, for instance) and therefore we should wire 0 Volts to the other connection of the devices. Thank you for your meticulous attention to details!
@DerKB79
@DerKB79 2 жыл бұрын
@@Upmation I might add to this, the PE crossing over is considered bad practice. You could simply turn that arrow around (tab while inserting it) and place it over the PE of the motor.
@Upmation
@Upmation 2 жыл бұрын
@@DerKB79 Hey, Jörg! Thank you for the input! But according to the common practices (which we've talked about them in this video as well: upmation.com/wiring-diagrams/), we should outline the drawings so that we can read them from left to right. That's why all of the entering arrows are considered left to right.
@DerKB79
@DerKB79 2 жыл бұрын
@@Upmation To avoid this, you could have gone PE - L3 - L2 - L1 at the top for example, putting your motor connections in order without crossing anything and you could have gone around any other connections with minimal crossing going on. But since you use PE only once here, there is no need for it. Another way of avoiding it, put PE on the buttom of the page and bring it up, like you mostly do in DC circuits, put +24 DC on the top of page and 0V on the buttom, same goes for AC, incomming on the top (230V for example), return on the bottom (for me that mostly is N). I think we are having this argument (if you can call it that) cause for me here in Germany, it´s a bit different then for you in the US i guess, we are using the same symbol libaries, but might not do everything the same way.

The "Stop" N/C contacts and the "Motor Fault" N/C contacts should be in series not in parallel as you have drawn them. They should have their own terminal point at the PLC as shown on your PLC input drawing.

Q.2 and Q.3 Both are used for reset purpose when any one input disconnect then q.0 will be reset so connections should be in parallel
