I remember running the GP40s with Penn Central from Weehawken to Selkirk. Although the maximum speed was 40 at that time, they got up to speed quickly with 40 and 50 car van trains. Another great video. Thanks for taking the time to share.

I live about 250 feet from the 'Main' line in Wallington/Wood-Ridge town lines. Several NJT trains an hour on weekdays all day, some freight runs day and night. Originally part of the old Erie line. NYS&W runs several times a week.

Really enjoying your videos. I have fond memories of Ramsey from the HiWay Hobby House days (unfortunately, it closed in 2010). You've give me a good reason to visit Ramsey again, and perhaps dine at the eatery you patronized!

I wonder why they use ALP45-DPs on the main line where there aren’t really any electric sections, except the Hoboken area. Seems like a logistical mistake to me, unless they don’t have enough to swap around.

I see a mix of NJT and MN equipment. How do these agencies divide up the financial and operational obligations?
@3985uprr2 жыл бұрын
NJT operates the trains under contract to MN. Services in NY state are subsidized by the state. NJT maintains the equipment. For all intensive purposes they are NJT locomotives disguised as MN locos

Did you mention being in the Chicago area in a few weeks? If so, any plans to visit Naperville train station? I might be able to meet you there.
@3985uprr2 жыл бұрын
I will be using Metra out of Route 59 a couple of times.
@TomWazy2 жыл бұрын
I assume you will be driving to the Rt59 station. That station is not much more than a huge park and ride affair, as that is what it was built as. Of course if you are just using it as a jumping off point, it should work for that. The next station east is the actual Naperville station, situated in a residential area, and far more photogenic, but the downtown area is a few blocks south. Before Covid parking on weekdays was next to impossible, but now it’s wide open. Every station from there east into the city is very photographically pleasing. BTW, I am originally from the Rutherford NJ area and commuted on the Bergen County Line for over ten years in the late 70s through late 80s to a job in the WTC
