I remember when first landing in Colorado, I spent the first year exploring and remember driving up this road to Yankee Doodle then kicking myself for not packing a pole. On the way back down that road I was on the flat section and heard a clank clank boom sound so I pulled over thinking I broke my Jeep. I hopped out and everything sounded normal. Well, fast forward the following week when I was at Chinaman Gulch outside of Buena Vista, I was photographing some 4x4 buggy's going up the Gulch and when I came back to my Jeep, I noticed one of my D-Rings was missing on my front bumper. I always assumed someone swiped it while I was parked there but it hit me about 6 months later that the clank clank sound I had heard back on Moffat was probably that D-Ring coming off. SO, somewhere on that road is my D-Ring and the screw that rattled loose probably due to the washboard road.🤦‍♂️

@@CombatFlyFishing Yeah, I might head up this weekend just to tool around again and hike that flat section to see if I get lucky. Bringing my pole this time!🤣🤣🤣🤣

If your in that area soon you should head up to "forest lake" #1 and #2 from mammoth gulch road below james peak. 17" cutthroat all day if you fish the shrubs on a sunny day!
