Josh and guys, thanks for sharing your camp experiences with us. It's amazing how similar our shared experiences are and we are also concerned about how the added predation from wolves has affected our hunt. With the wolves Its like having more hunter's in the woods as added competition.. Our camp is on state land about an hour south of Felch.

Watched your video last year and again this year 👍 I have a camp in the Western UP . I think I asked you last year 🤔 where about is your camp ? We had 8 guys at camp this year and harvest 6 bucks . Best year in a long long time ..

Wolves have had an impact, but severe winters and TWO BUCK RULE has decimated the UP. My family has hunted the UP for over a century (literally)

Great video! Always loved your deer camp series. Keep up the great work! Wolf numbers have really grown in our area of the UP too and it’s definitely made an imprint on the hunting. We had 9 on our cameras and I had a pack of 6 in one picture and then a few days later I had a spike walk by one night only to have a wolf right behind him 4 minutes later.

Yeah I noticed you posting the pics of the wolves. We’ve always had wolves but they seem much more prominent since they logged.

Also, the more food plots the more wolves you will have. just part of it. Good luck.

This is so awesome to see! We actually hunt the same area as you guys (we are farther in on the lake) and see the vehicles parked every year and actually talked to you guys this past season when group 1 was coming out and group 2 was going in! This is so awesome to put faces to the trucks parked there and see the camp as we have always been curious keep up the good work

How was your camp this year?

We are up there nearly the whole season. As a camp (4 guys) we got a 5pt and a 8pt but they weren't shot till the second week. I went 5 days straight of not seeing anything or bait being touched and only saw one buck the first two days of season (fork) We didn't see many deer at all as a camp and had wolve problems for the majority. Hopefully we can catch up with you guys next season! We plan on doing some food plots and stuff like you guys have done to hopefully draw them in and keep them around the area. Enjoying all the U.P vids!

I enjoyed your series, you guys have a great camp. Sorry about the lack of deer. Hopefully your area will cycle back. I do believe wolves are a big part of your problem. We need to keep wildlife in check from top to bottom and there should be a season with limited tags for hunting and trapping to keep the balance. Thanks for the videos! Happy Holidays!

until they let us do something about these things, deer hunting i feel will be a thing of the past of up. i remember when the dnr said there wasn't any wolfs then they started showing up on trail cameras then they new we had them. back when we got our camp in 89 there were all kinds of deer. you could go out and see 10-15 deer a day. then about the mid 2000's that all changed. they want to blame the hard winters, but the b.s yes the winters take there share of deer, but we had bad winters before the wolf showed up and still seen deer. i've been hunting up there for 37 yrs and it used to be great.

The U.P. Whitetail association has tried and tried to push the DNR to do something about the wolves up here. Unfortunately the lawmakers downstate have more control than us Yoopers. We need to do something to get this deer herd back to what it used to be. Awesome video! We have wolf issues up in Big Bay Area (25 miles from Marquette)

Yeah it’s unfortunate I actually just read an article that said they were just federally protected by a US Supreme Court judge. So at this point it doesn’t matter what our state lawmakers try to do. Just sucks

Problem is when you bring the deer in you bring the dogs in also. Then the deer get slaughtered or scatter. We go through the same crap at our camp up there

@@we-will-see-what-happens there is a few pockets around our area up there that the deer are and the wolves aren't. It's usually close to populations of people which means you have to deal with some other hunters in the woods but no wolves

We need a wolf season. I’ve got old trail cam pics from 2010 that have wolves with tracking collars on them. The dnr lied to us for years that we didn’t have wolves. But the collars say not only did they know. They were tracking them.

@@heyman6010 I agree we need to have a season on them. This government has done nothing but lie to us for quite awhile now so I'm not surprised they would lie about the wolves also

Your spot on i remember them saying there were no wolfs then they started showing up on trail cameras. If something isn’t done we won’t be deer hunting up there we bought our camp in 89 seen all kinds of deer then the mid 2000’s nothing they will blame hard winters before they blame the wolf. I got pics this year with collars on them

The wolves have to be decreasing the property value or making it go up slower. I've been wanting to buy a 40 or 80 up there but Im staying in the lower peninsula. They are real problem up in MN too.

Terry, live and deer hunt in Northeastern Minnesota, 80 miles north of Duluth and the last two or three years have been very unproductive. Yes we have had long cold snowy winters the past three years but the point is that the wolves in this area and in Northeastern Minnesota in general have decipher deer population. I am not a wildlife biologist but I do spend inordinate amount of time in the woods and have seen many wolves. I was never in favor of a wolf management program but now I am for it.
