James, I just want to say how much I appreciate you guys taking the time to address the issue you addressed at the beginning of the show. It is the responsibility of all anglers to help train up our young anglers on how to be safe on the ice.

Jealous. I'm still waiting on safe ice. The temps have been good, but the wind has finally died down enough to let the ice start taking over. Moving fast now, maybe I'll be fishing that ice ina week or two. Cant wait.

For the ice safety portion you guys should of have also brought up that you should pack an extra set of clothes to put in the sled when walking more than a mile and half or more so you can get warm/dry so hypothermia doesn't set it

I’m in western Wisconsin and was on a lake I punched a few holes near the launch and had 13” and I was walking but there was tire tracks in the snow I drilled a few spots on the other side of the lake that were 4-5”. That would not have been a good outcome. Stay safe and have fun

Why run the transducer so far down on early ice? You guys must have been fishing 4-6 inches. I can't question the results, just curious about the deep transducer.

Surprised you found cribs. It is against Michigan state law to sink stuff in the lake.

I assume the lake association did it cooperation with the DNR. The cribs in question are plentiful and way to big / heavy to have been done without a lot of manpower.

Still don't get why you run your transducer cord so long, think it's just a formed habit/motion people have a come accustomed to doing especially when fighting a fish in. I know some will argue you need to have the transducer below the bottom of the ice, but I never have, never will as long as my transducer is in the water. Think about it, are people mounting their transducer's on their boats with the thought it needs to be in placement at a certain level as they do when using their electronics ice fishing? Whether I get a little reflection clutter on my Flasher in say the first few feet markings, I'm so use to it after all these year's and unless it's last ice and the fish are just below the ice, who care's? In that case if they're just below the ice, you don't need to being using your electronic's to catch them. If angler's still like the concept of having long lead's on their transducer's, maybe get one of those device's made that work of a remote to wind up your cord/transducer so you don't have to constantly pull your unit/cord/transducer out of the way when fighting a fish and your line wrapping around your cord. I'm actually thinking of adding one to my Box because big guts and bending over all the time isn't part of my exercise routine when ice fishing, lol.

year by year, more and more CM between shows... C'mon man, show actual fishing than talk too much... I rather see more LX9 and GPS monitors than you. So people can see how fishes act under water and can see which part of lakes you are fishing at. Less and less educational video now.
