Ohh that’s a great idea and one that I’ve been thinking about doing for sure - I do fish freshwater (I actually fish freshwater more than salt!) but on a fly rod, so maybe I’ll try that in Central Park hahaha Also, I really enjoy your channel man, awesome stuff!

I like your videos. You’re out to have a good time fishing. I fish many of the same places you do. Hope I get to meet you one of these days. Tight lines!

Appreciate it man, would be happy to catch you around - also, don't feel shy about putting some of your catches up, I'd love to see and learn how you approach these spots too!

Fishing right after a rain? Combined Sewage Overflow; gnarly man... It ain't just the PCB's one has to worry about... But thanks for keeping up with your videos. They're really entertaining especially for lazy guys like me that wish I had your energy and gusto. Cheers!

Haha I actually got into a long and detailed convo with the gentleman from Riverkeeper on sewage overflow - I was shocked at how little rain it takes for the overflow to occur. You should get out there too! No need to go when it rains obviously…

@@FishNY Just FYI, one of the spots that you've been to, Gantry Park Plaza, is actually a sewage discharge point. Several years ago, I remember seeing a sign by the outflow point notifying citizens of its presence there and to be mindful that when it rains, sewage flows from that area. The signs look like this: www.flickr.com/photos/j-no/6502788121

Nice man! Current must me ruff at that location! Any issues with snags?
@FishNY2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yea the current can be pretty strong over there (or for most piers in the Hudson). Hardly any snags out there actually, I'd say across all of the Manhattan Hudson River piers north of battery park, I get snagged like once every 5 outings? I've found that the East River and the southern tip of Manhattan are super snaggy.

Where is this located
@FishNY2 жыл бұрын
This is Pier I (the letter), it’s on the west side of Manhattan right at the end of 70th street. Beautiful park to just take a stroll or have a picnic at the cafe that’s there, but decent fishing too during the spring and fall.

Is it legal to fish at pier 1?
@FishNY2 жыл бұрын
Yep, just need to make sure to follow the regulations for gear and types of fish to target. You should also sign up for the NY marine registry before fishing - it’s free and more something the state does to try to keep track of saltwater fishermen.
