The Pinkertons were involved in a lot of the harassment of these miners , my grandfather was just a small child the son of A miner there at the time and he talked about it with me when I was younger. My great grandfather also testified in a Michigan Supreme Court case to help get compensation for some of his mining friends who were crushed to death right next to him. The Pinkertons are made out in history to be wonderful people and they were nothing but paid murders.

Good! Puts the blame squarely on those responsible, and not blaming a contractor who put the building up. Who would have changed the story in the 1940's?? The copper bosses? I wonder if they still had that much power.

Good story! I miss local northern Michigan news. It doesn't have all of the pomp and idiocy of America's national variety. (Thanks for nothing, Ted Turner.)
