Having this this wonderful video it made me realize that management in itself is cause of dukkha/suffering. As management in itself is born out of aversion to suffering and this aversion causes suffering in itself. Sort of like a vicious cycle contributing to greater and greater suffering. More suffering -> more management = more suffering leading to more management. The view itself that suffering should be mitigated and managed is a source of suffering . Basically '' stop resisting '' the arising phenomena (including the feelings of aversion and attachment, allow their presence yet not act on them) . This video helped me very much, Thank you !

Venerables, understanding that one is still liable to anger and lust in this moment, even if anger and lust are not present here and now, is vital to one’s progress. I think this falls into what you mean by “right order”. It seems that there is no gap in the Dhamma. The Buddha’s teachings are seamless and complete. In realizing this, even on a mundane level, I am so grateful and joyful. Thank you Venerables.

As a laymen i suffer repeatedly do to sensuality. I thought only cut off certain things which was completely misguided only to realize the reason i kept coming back was because i kept maintaining the general aspect of the thing8 i wanted to get rid of. ALL sensuality whatever form is fully disgusting and worth abandoning until the value of it mentally is removed YOU WILL ALWAYS COME BACK. good luck to everybody.

The trick here is the endurance. It seems painful at the start but if you can hold on there will come a break away point where you start seeing how your suffering originated from craving. This fills your heart with joy cause this is new and feel so good. If you can keep the precepts and develop Jhana, you can come to this joy phase very quickly and you will realise that even among things that used to move you in real life, you seem pretty solid and almost unmoved. This initself will promote more joy and now you will even strengthen your practice more. It's a blissful journey. All the very best. Keep steady. Specially pay attention to things that break your precepts. They are the real problem. If you know how to see through them by enduring, they can be converted to a part of the answer i.e. end of suffering.

Very interesting teaching & perception, thank you. Non-consensual consciousness is the thorn of suffering though…consciousness feeds pain, pain feeds consciousness. They are one & the same substratum of ultimate reality. No hope of ACTUAL liberation, no escape, only resigned acceptance of the non-consensual, unconditional eternal & binding curse of consciousness (The Dao is sentient suffering itself) Dukkha is made of consciousness & consciousness is made of Dukkha. The Living, Eternal, non-consensual, unconditional Sisyphean Ouroboros. The Pure cosmic necessity primordial pain paradox that generates all being & non-being simultaneously. The meta-self aware curse of consciousness. Inherently bound to be what it is forever without any true option to be other than itself. It is what it is & it ain’t what it ain’t ;) Brutal.

The question that raised in me while listening to this was that Buddha himself said to cultivate kusula dhamma, not to just "endure" or to get distracted amidst unpleasant feelings. Actions that are contrary to greed, aversion and delusions, such as charity and giving up things (Dana), can undermine greed aversion and delusions (if I understood correctly). So my question is whether practicing Dana is the same as management or if it is actively uprooting the kilesas. Also, it is said that there are three ways to enlightenment: through, virtue, through wisdom (the case of Gautama Buddha) and through sacrifice (the case of the next Buddha), I wonder if this point of view is correct. I apologize if I misunderstood any of your points.

Does the uprooting of becoming include joy, calm, equinimity etc? Does it end ones liability to experience worldly pleasure?

Uprooting itself is the best joy, calm and equnamity that anyone experience. There is nothing beyond that. The only reason you seem speculative about it now is cause you haven't experienced it on a mundane level at least. Keep the precepts and use the concentration generated through it to direct your thoughts on sensuality and calming of aversion. You will see that worldy pleasures are not real pleasures but distractions we use to hide from the real problem i.e. dukka. Rest wlll be apparent to you. Stay on the path. You will see things improving in your life since your mental capacity is increasing and that should be a clear indicator for you to know it's working. Good Luck!

I was wondering, do you have the source Sutta’s name/number for the comparison of certain meditators techniques as akin to a predator focusing to catch its prey? The Suttas that describe such wrong meditations are MN 108 and AN 11.9; same wording is used in MN 50 with corresponding comparisons to animals by people who criticized the Buddha's disciples.

I think Lord Buddha taught two paths : one to freedom from suffering like getting away from jail and another one to better our lives like how to get a comfortable cell in jail. For a lot of people, including myself, fear of the unknown prevents us from actually seeking freedom from the jail of samsara, so we keep ourselves busy doing things to improve our cell or moving to a more comfortable jail with nicer jail mates and so we may pretend we are happy being in jail or we forget we are in jail. That's how I see it.

You are sort of right, however, he didn’t teach two separate paths. If one were to read the Pali transmission of discourses he taught only one path for the actual action of practice in accordance with the nature of things for liberation, but that was only to those persons who were primed for it, basically. The texts are rife with the Buddha encouraging laypeople to be virtuous and generous in behavior in order to lessen undesirable outcomes, but that is neither The Path nor unique to his teaching.

@@dassavilokantara439 it depends how you define "path". Lord Buddha taught a mundane right view and a supramundane right view. The mundane right view includes elements not unique to his teachings. Actually generosity, some kind of ethics and belief in a world or life after death are very common principles in the religions of this planet.

His teachings are not about two paths but two sides to the world. One side keeps you on suffering the other side is total abundance of suffering. You can't end physical suffering as long as you have a physical body but you can change your way of thinking about physical suffering. Also mental suffering is an entire creation of mind. It happens when you try to maintain your self with so many factors such as this is me, this is mine, my social status ( this mental suffering starts when you try to manage everything around you). Suffering ends when you see these roots and uproot them

@@dassavilokantara439 In a Sutta about monastics duties towards lay followers Lord Buddha said it is the duty of the monastics to guide the lay people to heavens. In others Sutta he said he had taught the path to heavens and beyond. So it could be one path till the very end or it could be seen as two paths starting with two different aims and goals.

Liability to suffering is the danger. Dispassion removes the liability. For example, if you buy a brand new card or phone, towards which you have passion for and ownership of, then the moment you leave with that car or phone you know that there is suffering just knowing that the first scratch will make you suffer. Contrastly, your old reliable car or a phone you’ve had for years, the passion having faded away, does not hold any danger/liability over you because of that dispassion and dispossession in regard to that object

Please check your rudeness in addressing a venerable monk. Perhaps what you see as bullying is just a way certain cultures talk….some cultures it sounds like they are harsh talkers but that harshness is definitely not in their hearts. It is bad kamma to address the wise ones as you have and I don’t wish fir you or anyone else to harm themselves. My nun friend who is an Ariya sometimes seems to talk harshly to me but whenever I questioned her about it she says it is not in her heart and as I know her very well, this is very clearly true.

In their giving teachings, these teachers give so much, absolutely freely and out of compassion for others ….why else would they do it? And as such the right response is surely gratitude…deep gratitude if it leads us out of suffering. May we all be free from suffering through diligently following the right way/teachings.
