The first time I rode an alia was in the 90s. It was a bit difficult because you have to relearn everything. But once you figure it out it's amazing.

Here's a question for all you surfers: when it comes to surf and boards, what is normal? My answer to that is that there is no "norm or normal" when it comes to surfing,b ecause it is not about competition, it's just you and the ocean, in harmony! I hope you never stop shaping boards, and continue to create such beautiful works of art for those willing to step outside the bounds of what the Surf industry has become and return to the roots of the surfing tradition!

I ride one of his paipo bodyboards and it is FREAKING AMAZING. Locked into small barrels in Santa Monica while the stand up, foam/soft-top board riders are getting plunked and dunked in the typical mediocre surf. The thing is a work of art in every sense of the word. All plane, no flotation means speed down the line. Getting one for The Rockaways in NYC for the summer surf there, when it is smaller but fun……..
