Stepping Down a Surfboard - How To Inch Down

I love this video. this is definately where I am at now. Wanting to go down size but keep volume and paddle strength. keep reading different opinions and the more I read the more confused I get. looked at a fish as you can go down length and still keep the volume and stability however was told it can hinder your progression also.
