Wow! A snippet of the interview I never thought I needed. I am 48 and all of ATCQ’s albums were soundtracks of my teenage to early adulthood. Every time I play a song from any of their albums, it brings me back to those glory Golden Era hip hop days and where I was in life. Definitely memories I cherish and definitely from one of my favorite hip hop groups of all time. RIP 🕊Phife the 5 foot assassin we love you. 🙏🏽

I'm so exicited for this interview. A Tribe Called Quest is my favorite group of all time and Ali Shaheed Muhammad rarely does interviews. I remember meeting this brother a couple of years back at Lincoln Center and he was so nice and super modest. He was even nice enough to take a picture with me. Thank you Talib and thank you Uproxx! Keep up the great work

It hurts to watch the pain in his face as he talks on his brother. While I didn't personally Know Phife I know we all felt as we did through the music over 30 years of hearing this brother then he had to leave this just made me feel closer to him sharing inciteful pieces thoughts at the time of his close friend, seeing the love he had for Phife overwhelms my heart in a positive fashion. Continue to Rest In Power Phife Diggy!!

R.i.p to Phife Dawg. I was security at the rock the bells concert dedicated to OBD. He literally was back in the vip area chillin. And walked up to us and we stared to talk. I let him know I was a fan since I was 12, and wondered why he wasn't on stage. So I asked him, and his response was the tribe were not united. So I told him I remember the rap video where he was sliding down a slide. If you watch Dear dj dilla, that's why he walks up steps and ends up on stage at the end of the video. We only have so much time on this spinning rock, don't waste a man's time. THATS WHAT I LEARNED FROM PHIFE DAWG!!!

I'm a 42 yr old Tennesseean. I 1st fell in love with ATCQ in 1992. I was kinda a black sheep so It matched my aesthetic and sonic vibe perfectly. I remember listening to the Love Movement and knowing it was their last album, I was truly sad.

For up and coming interviewers, I want you to pay close attention to something Talib did that was profoundly brilliant: HE SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET THE GUEST SPEAK WITHOUT CONSTANT INTERRUPTION. Apparently, it’s harder than it looks, because you rookies can’t seem to do it.
