I never understood why RZA didn’t produce an entire album for him. He should have reached bigger heights of popularity. This song has aged like fine wine.

The reason why is because shy was apart a production deal the Big Homie RNS who produced his classic Album. RNS was and still is that Brother on Staten Island..Where you think RZA get his style from?

“I never had a good Christmas, so who is Santa Claus?” That line hit me so hard. No kid should ever go a year without Christmas. And no kid should ever have to live in the hood. It really amazes me how this kid who’s like 14 or something is able to make better music then most rappers today. Modern hip-hop really has to change. We need a person to kill of mumble rap, and make music like in the 80’s and 90’s, while being somewhat creative.

He's a Wu Tang affiliate that got started rhyming around 13/14 years old. This video came out around 94. This is from his album "Aka the rugged child (94)". His first 2 albums are instant classics👍! His story on how he came up is pretty sad. Just Google his name and you'll either shed a tear or just be mentally blown away.

At a young age this kid was addressing topics that really do happen in drug dealing neighborhoods!! He should show all of those new trap rappers how to write ✍️ real songs that people would start listening too!! Trap rappers can't touch this real raw Rap Music!!!

It’s a shame he was never able to fully reach his potential but he will always be an underrated hip hop legend in my eyes. He worked with a lot of legendary names all at a young age especially Biggie and Tupac.

In New York back then you had to have musicality AND dope lyrics. This13 year old kid had both heavy. Musicality in rap is the ability to mix up the flow without every line being predictable. Biggie Jay-z and Nas were all musical. So was Wu-Tang and a few others.
