@@empower5228 You clearly didn't watch the show last night then. Every match had someone kick out of someone's finisher. Finishers should be kicked out of in rare circumstances. In AEW it happens so much that I honestly never believe a match is over when someone hits their finisher the first time. So maybe last night was rare for Osprey, but I guarantee it will become routine in his PPV matches from now on. What makes things exciting, usually, is the rarity in which something happens. Why was TK being attacked by the Bucks & Perry exciting? Because TK hardly gets involved on screen.

I attended last night. arena was mostly full except the top section and scattered seats here and there. it was a long night with non-stop matches from pre-show to 12:00 ending. everyone got a reaction but with such a long show the intensity was in short bursts. MJF was super over and it was a good match to open but without any reason to care, it was just there. acclaimed and okada/EVPs were over. Danielson has the best entrance music and everyone yessed. the spot on the floor where he 'injured' his neck was pretty brutal but he just miraculously healed. orange sabre was amazing, both are super athletic. it looked like sabre didn't know what hold to use so he used all of them at once. jericho's match could absolutely be cut. last time at worlds end right we sang judas and then he got crapped on. this time, while he got bood and just retire, he was mostly over (i have no idea how he does it) just by waiving hi! ladder shmoz was nuts, I AM THE TABLE! Mercedes was a very good match, maybe a bit too long given we all knew the outcome but i feel she needed that match to avoid being a 'wwe star paid alot and does nothing'. a lot of vocal ceo fans but the longer it went the more steph got over. steph is super good and i could see her as a champ in either aew or wwe. ceo/baker feud is gonna be insane. was excited for mox but it was meh because 1) it was in a dead zone after a long, heated womans match 2) we knew mox was losing 3) there wasn't much in-match story 4) no mox bleeding lol. Osprey is the best wrestler on the planet and he absolutely made swerve (who'se massively over) look legit as a champ. the match had an great pace, the initial big, fast spots got popped, there were lulls but at the end the roof came off for the false finishes. the story that osprey wouldn't shank nana and lost because of that/he was distracted by callos gives him a way out. aew absolutely has to keep osprey at the top but no one was more over than swerve.

Impressed that you called it the 'Fargo strut' instead of Flair. Most people don't know that decades ago, Ric Flair came to Nashville and saw the Jackie Fargo strut...and stole it. Fargo also used to let someone pin him and tap his opponent on the back like the referee does at the 2 count and just crack up when the opponent started jumping around like he'd won. Jackie was one of a kind.

@empower5228 2 ай бұрын
@Deadguy2322forreal Stephanie Vaquer is on another level, mate, and she is well-versed in a style of lucha libre that Mercedes Moné has only just recently delved into. Plus, you can tell that Mercedes hasn't fully adjusted to life after her latest injuries, so instead of simply staying away, she chose to get in the ring and put eyes on Stephanie in America using her own star power. Not only was that very generous of her, but it's almost certainly going to lead to TK signing Stephanie to a cross-promotional contract, which he likes to do with all of his international talents (ie. Rush, Riho, Jamie Hayter, Kyle Fletcher, etc.) Does this make Mercedes look good? Not at all lol but she's doing something that she said that she would do (yet couldn't while she was in WWE). Next up, she will be going to war with one of the most captivating storytellers in AEW via Britt Baker, who's every bit her equal with less time in the business. Please try not to shit on just because YOU think it's not going to be worthwhile. These are the kinds of feuds and matches that will make AEW big money 💰 and let's be real here...they absolutely need it right now 💯

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I don't think Mercedes has lived up to the hype. A bunch of mediocre promos and, what, 4 or 5 matches and she already has 2 belts? Feels too much like they've just been given to her and not enough like she's actually earned them. Honestly, I feel like she took them both from more deserving champions. The Title for Title match was incredible but at the end I felt like Stephanie had put on a much better show and the wrong woman had the belts. Mercedes was supposed to elevate the AEW Women's division but I'd argue that Toni, Mariah, Willow, Deonna and Thunder Rosa have all done more to elevate the division than Mercedes has so far.

Oh you asked what we thought. I’d say 8/10 typical aew super quality ppv and not really finishing any main storylines with the involvement of njpw and CMLL. That being said, much like other FD ppvs, fans saw some insane quality in the other two promotions and will yearn to have their performers similar to jay white/will/deonna/okada. We want Vaquer and I would be shocked if aew doesn’t eventually get her. It does beckon though why these two promotions want to do these seeing as aew will take their top talent eventually like they did to njpw and tna. Amazing show, cmll has some quality that the American fanbase loves. Similar to when Ecw/wcw showcased Mexico and Japan’s best. Love that aew does this and you can tell it’s for the fans who just love wrestling in any variety. Big up to the show. Sign Vaquer lol don’t let her even fly back 😂

Naito repeatedly whacking Jon with the padding from Barry Jr. was an indication of where his head is nowadays, especially on US PPVs; like he's adopted Yano and Takahashi's gimmicks...

It needs to be said that Orange Cassidy should be in the mentions for best wrestler. He can have great matches with everyone, keeps up and matches up with the names for "best wrestler" eveytime and does all the styles all while keeping the lazy gimmick going. He won't get the credit but he should

Nah this is the best Jericho gimmick in a few years. I thought he had something with Kenny for a second, but he's really been struggling for traction. Keith getting injured is going to suck.

I would normally agree on the ol' Bitch Counter, but Max was clearly going at Okada's recent adoption of the word. Honestly, he's usually more creative with his crudeness....but I think he's just DONE with the Elite lol

Extremely rare Simon Miller L saying that Moxley vs Naito was a disappointment. That shit was an utter slobberknocker. Not the craziest match on the card by any stretch, but god it was just a satisfying watch imo. There's something to be said for Mox being built up so strong that losing a regular match clean feels a little out of place, I guess? But also, Naito IS a multi-time world champ for a reason. He's one of those dudes that CAN go toe-to-toe with Mox and have a clean, normal win feel legitimate.
