As a delivery driver, the sad part is I see UPS and other delivery companies only NOW "changing" their delivery methods for their drivers, AFTER the fact! We complain to dispatch/superiors, they relay the message to corporate, and corporate (in their air conditioned offices) ALWAYS shut it down, because it would cost too much to install any kind of A/C in the back/front of the vans. They make us shut our vans off at every stop. I'm sorry my dear, but when it's 100 out, even having the doors open doesn't make a difference. Amazon especially, sees its drivers as replaceable pawns. Social media has its pros and cons and in this case, it's a blessing.

But thanks so much for thinking about other people and their struggles that you've never experienced in your precious little life, Ryan. No rain for weeks and nothing but consecutive day after day of excessive heat warnings. Breaking all types of records. All types of water bans throughout the summer on using sprinklers on your lawn. Darn near took me out of business. The last two summers in Minnesota have been the Hottest/Driest in my 20 plus year career doing this. It seems very odd and i’m hoping this year will be cooler than the last two. One thing i recommend if you work outside in heat other than the obvious things. Poor guy... I can't believe delivery trucks doesn't have air conditioning. That's insane especially when there's heat waves reaching at ridiculously high temperatures. I hope they do something about this issue 😢

I understand why they can't A/C the trucks, with the frequent stops it really would be fairly meaningless... But I would hope they would at least provide a 12vdc portable fridge/cooler to keep liquids cold for the drivers. Having been in that type of heat I know that even just pouring 8oz of cold water over your head periodically can greatly help cool you down, plus of course cold water/beverage to keep hydrated.

They dont care. It's all about money. I was a preloader for years and if you turned the belt off they would immediately turn it back on without question. You could have your head stuck in the gears and they would just turn it back on. I tore ligaments in my back unloading a 54 footer one morning and the supervisor was mad that my production for the day was down even though I finished unloading the truck and finished my shift.

It’s heartbreakingly awful that UPS doesn’t care about their employees as much as they should. There is nothing, NOTHING more important than health. There’s no way someone can work properly without feeling well. I really, seriously hope they can implement air conditioning in warehouses and trucks and wherever else needed. Their employees deserve much better.
