Most important thing is to test the UPS system from time to time in the real world scenario. This means disconnecting AC power from the UPS and see if the UPS correctly switches to battery power, if the batteries are still powerful enough to carry the load and check if all the loads continue to operate as expected. And after that restore power to test if the transfer to utility power and the recharging of the batteries works as expected.
