this layoff is thier fault for wanting to strike the company, and wanting big payraises when ups says they are not doing so great. ups cannot afford these big raises and big pensions . they did it to themselves

It most definitely is their own fault. UPS couldn’t afford a strike nor the raises so the most profitable thing to do is surplus employees. Sounds cruel but business is business is business!! They got rid of their old pay raise scale. Each employee will receive a 2.75$ raise this year and 7$ raise by through out the 5yr contract. This coming from a 12yr union employee myself.
