This year prelims though moderate in difficulty was totally unfair as it has several wrong question apart from controversial question. In the interest of candidates this year prelims exam should be cancelled. I have never seen a prelims exam with so many wrong question. Most of us have deep concern and strong objections to 6 incorrect questions in civil service prelims examination this year. Out of 6 question two had translation errors in hindi of such scale that it completely change the meaning of the question and the remaining 4 were factually wrong, no answer was possible according to the 4 options given. The weightage of these incorrect question collectively exceed 10 % of the anticipated cut off and is 6% of total question set in GS paper I of this year prelims. Deleting this question and distributing the marks to other question accordingly also doesn't create a level playing field. Let us take a example of two question with translation errors to understand the gravity of the case if these 2 question are deleted. A student who answered it correctly will fall from 94 marks to 91.8 (as their 47 question were correct in net) and those from English medium who did not attempt these two question their marks will jump from 90 to 91.8 (assuming they had 45 question net correct, 2 less than 47 as they did not attempt the translation error question). Also there is a third category of student from English medium who did attempt these 2 question but answered it wrong. Their mark will jump from 88.66 to 91.8.(assuming they had 44.33 net correct question,2.66 less than 47 because they got 2 translation error question wrong ). Thus we see within the English medium student for whom the question was correctly framed in english but didn't attempt or marked it wrong gained marks about 1.80 and 3.14 respectively, but the person who got it right and was from English medium his marks fall by amount of 2.20.This show that deleting the question doesn't create a level playing field, the student from Hindi medium who was not able to attempt it correctly as it had translation error and the student from english medium who answered it correctly suffered the dip in their marks in comparison to other candidates. if upsc has deleted this 6 question it will create a swing of around 6.5-9.5 marks and it will not compensate the aspirant who devoted 7-10 minutes of his time on answering these question in an examination hall as he assumed that these question were correctly framed. Secondly if these question not deleted then upsc has given the wrong answer of these questions assuming the question to be correct, this will create a swing of 2.67* 6 =16 marks roughly. These variations of 6.5-16 marks is huge as we know around cut off on each 1 mark there are around 1000 candidates roughly. Hence it has affected candidates in multiple of thousand. The real issue is that such errors in an exam of national level undermine the integrity of the entire selection process and makes the prelims exam a complete luck base , the time and effort of serious aspirant was completely compromised due to errors beyond the aspirant control. It also puts question mark on expertise of upsc expert body that has sets these questions, are they competent enough if they are not able to translate these question correctly in Hindi which even class 8th standard student can do. This also points that there is a high chances of systematic lapse by these experts while acting on the representation of these questions sent by aspirants post prelim exam unless these representation are examined by some independent experts who has not set these question paper. The upsc aspirant community completely reject the notion that setting 6 wrong question in an question paper constitutes mere human error. Human error is one or two question at most not 6 question. Earlier wrong question were limited to one or two.. Now they are 5-6 even state pcs exam doesn't have that much error in framing question.

Now is it not a sort of scam? Even the so called "lower caste" supported Tina dabi than stripping her off of her certificate! Even the dalits support Elite dalits like Tina who abuse system. Tina dabi ki jagah kisi gareeb Untouchable caste ko benefit milta then it'd have been a lot better but when even poor untouchables don't stand for their rights within SC category and think only Non SCs are their enemies who will fight Elite SC category caste certificate holders ? One of my relatives got selected in this exam yesterday and he has been calling and telling everyone in the family that i am now a commissioner and blah blah. He was clearly not that intelligent. He had also crossed age limit but he severed in Indian Air force for some time and resigned. So he uses ex armed force benefits.

No wonder why the standard of bureaucracy and administrative machinery is deteriorating .Upsc which was once considered a sacrosanct institution has lost it's credibility imo. Upsc prelims 2024 was a glaring testament to the sorry state of affairs. Despite having a year at their disposal for framing questions, upsc has failed to frame a foolproof question paper. There were factually inaccurate questions, questions with issues in translation, ambiguous questions. Really appalled and saddened by the maladministration
