I am a resident of Ashoknagar, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Currently, ONGC is extracting crude oil at a lower production scale. Every day 7-8 oil tankers are passing near my home. ONGC can significantly increase the production but local authorities are not giving permission. Ashoknagar Police station is just 5 min walking distance from the oil extraction zone.

Oil is discovered long back. One small plant is already operational in Ashoknagar for 3-4 years already. Even in my hometown ONGC has conducted extensive underground sonar mapping. But it is not barren land, mostly multi crop agricultural land or rural residential area. So acquiring land is not easy task.

In my state Kerala, ruled by CPM, Vizinjam harbor aka India's first deep water port. Therefore, the reason for no EDFC in WB is Mamta Begum. Mamta Bengum and TMCwallas like u r ruining WB...

Oil discovery jahan hui hain, 100 Sq. Km ki jagah mein, woh packed civilian settlements ki jagah hain. Jagah khali karwaney paregi civilians ko. Kanun aisa hain ki resettlement plan mein compensation ke saath environmental compensation assessment jud ke jagah aor funds placement ki notice deney padtah hain Govt. ko. Govt. Of India State Govt. Agency se relocation cost aor environmental damage ki compensation assessment karwatey hain. Now where is the notice from Govt. Of India. And a time is needed to select a suitable location for resettlement of the displaced persons. Further there is a global emphasis on use of non conventional energy to offset environmental pollution. So decision will be time taking.

Acquiring land is the toughest thing in WB for anyone, even for the state Gov not at all easy, it will disturb the environment and other poor people residential area, which Mamta will never allow to happen. The same thing is there in Jharkhand, Jharkhand is the extremely mineral rich state but not possible to do the excursion because of tribal people safety. That’s why Modi lost Jharkhand and WB, BJP cannot win these states because local people here are extremely aware about their land and not interested towards the money.
