UPSET in the Prix Niel! Arc hopeful Feed The Flame can't get to Fantastic Moon!

Don't think this was an upset. He was a smart winner in the G1 German Derby over the same distance and then did fine against a serious international G1 contestant when finishing 2nd in the G1 Dallmayr Preis over a shorter distance. Never underestimate the german horses. It was clear that he's got a nice turn of foot, that he's on form and he likes the good ground. He was also 2nd favorite. So why call it an upset?😂 Because the favourite didn't win (like that doesn't happen in horseracing)? Feed the Flame's odds where far too short anyway.

Not an accident. Fantastic Moon won the german derby and the second behind him Mr. Hollywood challenged Zagrey in Grand prix of Baden Baden 2 weeks ago. Zagrey almost lost.

Feel the flame wasn't exactly flying at the finish just staying on. I like Fantastic moon. He's a good horse and did it well and wasn't stopping. I think he has a serious chance of being placed in the arc at least.

Fantastic moon top class but if they meet again in arc I've no doubt feed the flame finishes in front. Soullimon gave it such a tender ride whip never used overreaction by bookies in my eyes in doubling ante post price for the arc.

Got an habit of always betting on the 2nd and 3rd horses in the betting regardless of how short the favourite is. The bookies tend not to put the best horse at the head of the market as they're banking on favourite chasers betting heavy on the favourite.

As said this lovely neat colt has always in my mind for the Arc since the German Derby. He is a perfect mile and half horse with light and clean good turn of foot though stride seems not to be stretched out a lot but looks really impressive as a whole. Unfortunately, connections need to supplement him in the Arc. But if they wanted to send him to run on a most likely hard surface ground with Equinox in the Japan cup rather than the Arc based on this existing trial performance, it would be a very interesting decision. What a rationale.

Apparently, he needs good or even firm ground. His connections recently withdrew him in Baden Baden, because the going was slightly on the good to soft side. Mr Hollywood is the German horse to be on, if we get the usual mud in Paris. So far, he hasn't had his ideal ground yet.

Barein reflection on that race the horses pedigree and stats,the horse had plenty left in the tank and seemed too be going great guns,tom only got serious when he knew he's rival was looming up beside him and when asked the question was one paced , anyone who dares backing a one too 25 shot needs too seriously think twice in future,the comontator was right in what he said the horse got mugged ,fair play too winning horse and the jockey very canny ride just waited in behind and then the asked the horse too go and win the race in the end a shade cosily 😂with minimum effort ,

I think some of us (myself included) overestimated these French 3 year old's. Feed The Flame beaten here, Blue Cen Rose also beaten, and Big Rocks beaten twice.

If you have any knowledge the sport you’d understand that French form equates to absolutely nothing! Their Group races are UK listed standard. This has always been the case and always win be.. #knowledgeispower

The German could be a surprise. Hukum and Ace Impact are favorites. Fantastic Moon have a good turn of foot. His german derby win was amazing. From the back to the front in the last 200 meters

​​@@wolfdragon9470 Definitely. A live German hope always enhances the race. My late father backed Star Appeal each way in 1975. He won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at odds of 119/1 but he was a class horse who won big races around Europe.
