It's gaining momentum - I hoped for 100 subs by end of 2019, and 200 by end of 2020...so I'm living the dream! But seriously, I'm at a bit of a loss where to share it, how to get the word out, etc. There's a shop hacks FB group that's very fitting, but FB puts KZbin videos at the bottom of their prioritization list. The big Reddit groups are more about DIY and sensitive to self-promotion (which is probably a good thing). Thanks for the note!

Steel is still doable without welding, bolts work just fine. The challange is getitng the bolt holes to line up. Ilke your design. You have some nice welders too.

Why Tig welding I hear a lot of people say they “should” learn to us it over MiG welding but I have never really hear why? Thanks for the video.

Good question. I don't think it's better than MIG, just different - as a newbie I'll give an answer, and hope somebody with more expertise can give a more expertly answer: When I MIG, I wheel the welder outside due to sparks and flying globs. Most TIG projects I can do inside w/ the exhaust fan running. More convenient. Also, TIG is nice for small parts and filler-less tacking. But TIG is slow.

@@KeithsTestGarage This exactly. Each has a use case -- depends on the application, type of metal you'll be using - cost is a factor as well. If you're just trying to learn welding in general I wouldn't start with buying one or the other, go take a course at the community college or makerspace and gain experience that way.

What’s your take on such a structure in a 8 feet garage for a 6’2” person? It seems that I’d bump my head quite often on random stuff... opinion?

forgot to add that to the video - I have it inset 6" into the island so it's kind of in front of me. I'm 5' 11" so that's about a 3" difference. I think I'd still do it if I had to mount it 6" lower...I'd mount the lights on shorter stems (directly to the clamps) and be fine.

@@KeithsTestGarage A quick google search says a full banana stem fresh from a tree is 66-100 lbs. I don’t see structure being a problem. For daily use I think that’ll cover it.
