Nice video on simple drawer building and installation! Some folks might prefer to install the drawers starting at the bottom so the drawer below supports the shims. And the shims for the sliders can be any size, e.g. cut 1/4" plywood to the width and laid flat on the cabinet side to place the slides high for a deep bottom drawer, then use thin shims off the bottom to support the drawer box.

Um no, Bosch pads are garbage from day one!!!!
@52ace1Ай бұрын
No, it's the new ozito sander I have. They have a new kind of hooked pad which just doesn't stick the discs on. Replaced the pad but exactly the same. Another reason could be that the stick on discs are not good. Never had a problem with previous sanders/discs

Really naive question here; but here goes. Why do you need the ball bearing setup? Couldn't you put in your Tbolt with several square nuts of the correct size to make firm contact inside the mixer and then just make sure the bolt is long enough to stick out further from the machine? Then you could attach your needed parts to the bolt and they would rotate along with it. (I am trying to make a simple lathe setup using a mixer, for example, so I would attach a backing plate to the bolt that would rotate and hold the material I want to lathe.) Please tell me why I am crazy and this wouldn't work....

some great content in this video, but i would start at the bottom so not to go against gravity as this seems like unnecessary effort and follow your steps but working up

What if your replacement pad seems to be just as crappy as the one it was replacing
@jasonplugowsky3086Ай бұрын
I'm sure it's been mentioned but working from the bottom up will negate the need to fight gravity. Simply set a spacer on top of each consecutive slide. Everything is square and both hands are free to work.

How can I employ this to use in sand heater with convection fan (instead of a fuel source to heat the bucket of sand)?

Thanks Keith, very helpful.

Hey Keith do use a special USB with the portable battery pack? Because I tried to replicate this but the kanthal wire doesn’t glow. It does heat up but not glow. Everything else is exactly how you had it. Same wire, same gauge, same math. But it’s not working.

After 15 years and thousands of hours sanding with professionals equipment I bought used a cheap sander once. I usually get a few thousand sheets on before I have to replace stuff, this bad sander couldn’t handle more than 5 sheets. It’s mostly about buying the good stuff.

Great video. I do like to know your thoughts on a drawer that can be pulled out on both sides. In other words it’s one big drawer under my center floor table where it can be pulled out on both sides. Have you ever done that?
@GoingShirtless4 ай бұрын
Well, I do see that some of the hooks are indeed melted on mine. But that does not explain why a brand new disc will stick like crazy, but after only a few minutes of relatively light use I see it starts to wander and I need to restick it to center it. I typically get to do this a few times before the sucker flies across the room and then it will not stick anymore. The sandpaper in it self is still near 100% cleans up nicely by simply brushing or smacking it on an edge, but it will not stick and there is nothing for it but to grab yet a new fresh sanding disc. I would wish there was a roll fo 125mm wide stickytape with loops that I could "refurbish" the sanding discs with as it gets very wasteful and expensive in the long run to swap papers every 5 minutes.

Steel is still doable without welding, bolts work just fine. The challange is getitng the bolt holes to line up. Ilke your design. You have some nice welders too.

I am all in on functional over pretty. One little trick you can do on the cheap is to take 2x4's and cut them into 1/2" strips for the sides/front/back and then cut then more 2x4's into 1/4" strips for make the bottom. I used screws instead of staples but either would work
