Steel is still doable without welding, bolts work just fine. The challange is getitng the bolt holes to line up. Ilke your design. You have some nice welders too.

I am all in on functional over pretty. One little trick you can do on the cheap is to take 2x4's and cut them into 1/2" strips for the sides/front/back and then cut then more 2x4's into 1/4" strips for make the bottom. I used screws instead of staples but either would work

So how do I strategically gouge sand? I am sanding a boat and I have to gouge sand in many areas because it is the only way to access them.

Thanks for the video, I am going to use it. A couple of point on gluing. a) You can't starve a joint if you put glue on both surfaces. b) what happens is that with fixed dimension clamps, there is an initial squeeze. This has no time to fully expel all the glue. As time goes by, the glue squeezes out. If the initial dimension to which the you set the clamps remains, the pressure goes down, and voids can occur, and you may end up with bad joint. It depends on how much, glue; how much soaks in; gel time; how much spring there actually is in the clamps, they may adjust' etc... c) If you use vac bagging; spring clamps; weight; pneumatic bladders; the clamping pressure remains constant, or relatively so. d) A great techniques that not only optimizes pressure on the glue joint, but also stops a lot of skidding around is to take pressure up on the joint firmly at first, but not too hard. Then come back a few minutes later and tighten. How much of what when, comes with experience, but it isn't difficult to do. This also allows one not to overtighten the clamps with possible adverse effects like breaking fragile parts, or denting, or skewing parts. I use it a lot on guitars. e) With yellow, and hide glues, if not epoxies, and polyU glues, one does not need any clamping pressure at all. I use rubbed joints on guitar part, and not only do they not require clamps, but the joints seem less visible than with other methods. I have to carefully mark the parts because the joint can so completely disappear that I can't find it if the boards are flat, and the ends are unremarkable. That doesn't really make sense, but it keeps happening.

I have a small project in which I need to reverse engineer a circuit based on these principles, but I don't need the wire to be glowing. Is there a way I can figure out the power needs and circuit design based on the initial temperature requirement?

I know I'm late to the party, but I found you down a rabbit hole. I love the simplicity. I'm in the middle of getting my own shop going and boy do I need drawers! That's the way I previously did drawers for my hubbie's armoir. Flat pack thing, 5mm euro screws to fit the existing holes, and measured with the whole thing stacked like you did. I made fancy cedar drawers with a dado bottom and finger- jointed sides, but the measurements so the drawers fit the existing case were spot on. Almost can't mess it up measuring this way as long as you remember there is a front and back to measure depth, and 2 sides + the two slides to measure the width. Was considering a drawer front, but why when it's enclosed in a closet?

Sorry if I missed it, but do you mention the brand of paint you use? And more importantly, with this video being 3 years old, how has the paint lasted? I used some Sharpie paint pens on my bits and the paints starting to wear off after about a month, with the most used bits having no paint at all. But I think it's the but material. I'm color coding screwdriver sets for an electronics lab, and it looks like the bits are some cheap shiney metal that doesn't hold paint well. I want to try your brand of paint and see how it works but it still might wear off easy... Anyway, I'll see if I can find out what metal is used for the bits and buy a paint accordingly.

OMG I can't believe this just pay 100 bucks more each for four clamps. CEO's have to eat too. Safety Sally what do you have to say ? "He'll be sorry when he loses an eye welding up clamps, and when one snaps under immense pressure and takes off his arm in the rebound." Well, there you have it, pay an outrageously gouged price hike for a single clamp or die, your choice.

Just observations from a science illiterate here....You went from something I understood to completely losing me.... What happened to the car battery?? Why did we stop using that as a power source? I'm in a location without access to power other than batteries... I was hoping to learn how to get my hot wire hotter... Also we went from basic electrons and movement of electricity to equations without defining anything in the equation to something I could follow along with😔

Contrary to what some people think extra pressure is not always the best thing. The way that I see it the extra pressure just causes you to have to do the work the sander was intended for. That also creates more friction (heat) and the pads on many sanders just can't take that heat for long. It is frustrating when a pad won't stay attached to the sander or you can't lift the sander without it whirling to a really high speed and throwing the sand paper across the room. I am very sure anyone who ever did it knows exactly what I mean, the paper becomes a frizbee and can go an amazingly long distance. I know a lot of sanders have some sort of brake that keeps them from whirling out of control but the ones that don't can give you a really wicked paper cut if you are not careful!!!

10:17 - So that is how its done. A picture is worth 1000 words and a video is worth 1000 pictures. Very good instructions. I like that window blind template idea. Leave airspace behind too, something new I learned. Measuring is the hardest part of woodworking. You did a great job explaining. Thank you. The camera work made me really dizzy. Please get a tripod or gimbal. Please keep the joking and digressions to a minimum. Time is precious. I'd rather focus on the project.
