Upstream is an annual event hosted by McKenzie River Trust to inspire community conversations about our rivers and lands. For our second event, we hosted author and biologist Robin Wall Kimmerer. We were also joined by Tana Atchley Culbertson from the Willamette River Network. Our conversation created connections between water and life, the role we have with water (especially women), giving personhood to non-numan beings, and how Indigenous People are still affected from being denied access to sacred lands. Robin reads from her book, Braiding Sweetgrass, and there is a Q&A period at the end. We hope this recording can give you some things to consider as a host and as a guest in the outdoors.
