Nice explanation~ thank you for sharing♡ what makes the difference is where you put the focus^.^ yeah~ Upward one has that everything pulling towards center which gives the beauty of subtleness of the particular movement whereas Downward one everything pushing out from center which gives more gooey feeling and it shows a level of exaggeration on the particular movement *^.^*

If these moves look the same why do you learn both? Or are there different circumstances where you'd use both of these in a dance

Hi there Eleasha! I absolutely use them in different circumstances. After studying the dance for over 20 years I have learned that there are only so many movements to learn… The real expression and nuances comes from the micro movement and textures and variations that you can create with each one!
